I've really been getting into them recently. "Second Heat" has to be one of the most underrated albums from the 80's.
Their new material is great too. I've been spinning "Superheroes" over and over again the past couple weeks.
I'm about to crack open "Technical Difficulties" as well.

Superheroes was my introduction to the band and is probably still my favorite. I strated there and then worked my way backwards, getting Street Lethal, their debut, last.
While I think Street Lethal and Second Heat seem ever-so-slightly dated these days, they are both good. In fact, I don't think they've released a bad album yet. They have incredible musicianship, but all the guys know how to write a good song. It's not overpowered by Paul Gilbert just shredding over some throw-away tracks.

Just picked up Superheroes last week. It's a really good listen (their cover of B.O.C.'s Godzilla is cool). A friend of mine had their live release on cassette back in the day and that's the only other stuff of their's I've heard. I need to invest in the rest of their catalog.

I saw their cds at FYE they were all 9.99. I've been wanting to pick them up but end up getting other stuff instead. Maybe eventually I'll get them. They are pretty good.

I have Live Extreme Vol.1 and Street Lethal. The live one never did much for me surprisingly - though I'll admit I may not have given it a fair chance. All I remember was it had annoying censor beeps over any language. Love Street Lethal. One of those great complete albums that I like every song on.
I was in Amoeba records one time in the R section when this teenage kid came across Racer X . He started going off on how great they were to his girlfriend. Even though I wished I could have gotten Second Heat before he did, it was pretty cool to see this young dude not only buy them all but also be excited about getting them.

I have Street Lethal, Second Heat, Live Extreme Vols. 1 & 2. I love these guys but haven't picked up any of their later stuff. I assume ir's just as good?
Totally got my wife into them and what was funny, when we went to the MSG show here in Sacto she ended sitting next to Scott Travis, but she didn't want to bug him because everyone else was.

I'd bet you'd dig their newer material if you like their older stuff. It's still good American heavy metal with shredding guitars and higher end smooth vocals. Start with Superheroes.

Never heard 'em, though a friend of mine is (or was) a big fan of them. I've always though their album covers were kinda cheesy, haha.

Don't judge a book by the cover when it comes to Racer X!

High energy and colorful band! Second Heat is my favorite.
I like everything they’ve done, although my least favorite is the last studio recording “Getting Heavier”. I think they were at their best when they had Bruce on second guitar. They pushed each other to play better. That stunt they pulled in the video playing the same guitar took an amazing level of cooperation and skill. Of coarse other bands have done things like that, but probably not in a full speed fast solo part.
I wonder how the bassist Juan Alderete is doing? I heard that he had a bad accident a while back as a member of the Mars Volta band.
He was amazing on bass with Racer X.

Second Heat is by far my favorite of theirs! Both Paul Gilbert and Bruce B are amazing. I wish Rock Candy records would reissue it.

I only own Superheroes. I had a chance to pick up Technical Difficulties the same time I got Superheroes but for some reason I didn't snatch it up. Naturally, next time I went back, it was gone.

God, i hate when this happens to me. The most frustrating time was when I held Stryper's Soldiers Under Command in my hand at a record store in Prague, back in 2010.
For no reason, i put it back on the shelves and picked up UDO's Mastercutor instead.
When i went back the next day, it was gone.

At one time I had all the studio albums. I currently now only have: Street Lethal, Second Heat, Technical Difficulties and both “Extreme Volume Live” 1 and 2.
I wasn’t a big fan of the later stuff after Technical Difficulties. The music was less technical and closer to what Paul does nowadays on his solo albums.
