- DEADSOUL TRIBE — the group led by former PSYCHOTIC WALTZ frontman Buddy Lackey (a.k.a. Devon Graves) — has revealed the cover artwork for its upcoming album, "A Lullaby for the Devil". Check it out at this location. The complete track listing for the effort is as follows:
01. Psychosphere 02. Goodbye City Life 03. Here Come the Pigs 04. Lost In You 05. A Stairway to Nowhere 06. The Gossamer Strand 07. Any Sign at All 08. Fear 09. Further Down 10. A Lullaby for the Devil
The initial pressing of the album will include a multimedia section with acoustic live material.
Lackey previously stated about the music on "A Lullaby for the Devil", "It will sound quite a bit different than the previous DEADSOUL albums, in that the songs are generally much faster-paced, and quite a bit more, progressive, quite a bit more aggressive, and quite a bit more metal. There are also some songs which would have been on the 'calmer' disc, which have a smokey, more experimental ambience. There is also a particularly noteworthy instrumental composed for lead flute."
"A Lullaby for the Devil" will be released on September 11 via InsideOut Music.
DEADSOUL TRIBE released its fourth album, "The Dead Word", in November 2005 via InsideOut Music.
Why did Graves decide to combine Dead and Soul and make one word? The first two albums show Dead Soul Tribe, the last two and this upcoming album shows Deadsoul Tribe. Pffft! Can't wait for this album, though. |

The Dead World took a while to sink in. It's a very subtle record, but it's really good given the chance. |

| I bought this album yesterday, and so far I'm pretty impressed. It's not as mellow as The Dead World, but not as progressive—or as Tool-ish, rather—as A Murder Of Crows. It's more like the debut, only heavier. In fact, the first three songs are really heavy—at least for Deadsoul Tribe. Definitely a solid album. If you like Deadsoul Tribe, this is a must, I'd say.
I just noticed there a multimedia inclusion, too. It's a 13-minute MPG of Devon performing a few Psychotic Waltz and Deadsoul Tribe songs acoustically. Just him and a guitar in the studio. It's a pretty sweet extra, listed right on the back of the CD, but somehow I missed it. Haha. He performs:
1. My Grave (from Bleeding) * 2. I Remember (from A Social Grace) * 3. Some Sane Advice (from The Dead World) 4. Under The Weight Of My Stone (from Dead Soul Tribe)
* Psychotic Waltz songs. |

| Got A Murder Of Crowes! Not a big fan, but maybe I`ll give this one a try. Less Tool-ish is good news for me | |

| I just recently picked up their s/t debut. Very cool stuff, but I have a question about the cd packaging. I ordered this from Amazon and I just assumed it would be a normal jewel case. What I got instead was a real nice hard-cover cd sized book with bound glossy pics and liner notes. I was wondering if this is some deluxe limited edition version or was this the standard release? Either way, it's very nice. Just wonderin'. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
