Going to see Metallica on Sunday?

Yep finally the 8th of july is almost upon us when many metal fans in the uk will be travelling to the new wembley stadium for some metallica madness.

In support are Mastodon( ), Machine Head( ) and Him ( )
which is cool apart from Him who suck and are out of place at a show like this.

Is there anyone else here who is going at all?

Metallica kicked off their 'Sick of the Studio 07' Tour in Lisbon Portugal last night. The full setlist was:

and with a setlist like this is should be awesome!

enjoy the show... i don't care much for Mastadon or HIM, but Metallica & Machine Head both are great.

That's a pretty decent old-school set list for Metallica. ("Disposable Heroes?" Hell yea!) If only they would cut out "The Unforgiven" (HATE that song!), "The Memory Remains" (ditto) and "Nothing Else Matters" (ACK!)...

Couldn't help but notice that there's no tracks from ST. ANGER in there...maybe the band hates that album as much as the rest of us do?

yeah they did not play any songs from st.anger on last years tour so i think they are trying to leave that behind now

i don't know if they themselves hate it. however i think they learned a lesson from it...

I'll be seeing them on the 10th in Oslo. Not sure they have the same support bands there. I know they have HIM, but I'd much rather see Machine Head!

I wouldn't see Metallica live for free, they've soiled their legacy that much.

that sounds like an awesome set list. I aint a big fan of the way they play live these days however. Maybe James should watch the video of Cliff 'Em All before playing live and maybe mimic his former self a bit.

I was considering going to see them but I didn't really have the funds - at least I got to see them last year, but that really is a great set list. Hope you have a great time, mate.

I believe Down and the Sword are supporting that show
