| What are your favourites? Obviously there are the classics like Die Hard and The Terminator, but are there any less known films you like? Also who are your favourite actors/directors/producers in these types of films?
I'm looking to go deeper into the genre now I have most of the best known films, especially films of the 80s. List your top ... if you want to.

| My fave action movie ever is probably "The Rock," because Sean Connery is the man. I also dig the James Bond series, the Die Hard flicks, and countless others. It would take me a little while to come up with a serious list of faves. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I bought that on DVD. Watched and thought what the hell, this girl turns up from nowhere and end's up being the man guy's girlfriend. It wasn't until I read that they'd cut a decent chunk of the film, including the part where he meets her/takes her out. It should be totally awful (ridiculous over the top characters) but it's really awesome. - Addy wrote:

They're pretty decent and one of the few realistic action series. - ryanmetalman wrote:

Might I also add, uhm, ah... PREDATOR As far as I know, the UK version has being cut massively and excludes the scene where a guy's neck is broken. Totally unfair!

All the movies mentioned in this thread are great. I recommend all Van Damme's movies even the newer ones. I also recommend Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, and a lot Seagal's movies.

| My recent bout of B-Movie madness reminds me of a couple of cool, mostly forgotten action flicks from the early 90s: "Class of 1999" with Malcolm McDowell, and "I Come In Peace" (aka "Dark Angel") starring Dolph Lundgren... both are cheesy but totally kickass. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I think I metioned it in another thread, but there'a a company called Fight Factory distributing direct-to-video films by people like Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes and Van Damme. They're all made on a small budget of course, but they're really cheap and some are even half decent

Love "I Come in Peace". It is a guilty pleasure of mine. The gun used by the alien rocks! Little know fact: The good alien cop was played by ESPN College Basketball Analyst and former Duke player Jay Bilas!!

| One thing I don't like is the way that action films are now toned down ridiculously, so they can stick a 12/15 rating (or region specific rating) so they can make more money. Like Commando was cut from 18 rated to 15 rated for the dvd release.
Anyway, just ordered these: Alien Aliens Hard Target Predator (2 disc) Rambo: First Blood
