| Thanks. I know, it's so sad what they do to these animals. I love him to death. | |

I know the feeling. I think the story behind my other cat, Tux, is interesting. I work for a large corporation and over the winter of 2000-2001, I had seen a black cat wandering around one of our parking lots. I tried to approach her but she was totally feral. Spring, 2001. I'm walking toward the front door of Building 3 when I notice some of the landscaping is "moving". I stop, remain still, and all of a sudden I see a little, gray feline face poke out. Then I see a little black and white face peak out from behind a shrub. Next thing I know, there are 5 kittens rolling around in the expensive landscaping. Soon enough, that black cat I had seen over the winter appeared and some of the kittens followed her to a dumpster on the property. The feral I'd seen all winter had had kittens. I notified some friends at work who are into animal rescue and they got permission to trap the cats. It took 3 nights but eventually we got all 5 kittens and the mother ( and one pissed off possum). I already had an 11 year old Siamese and was not in the market for another cat but I agreed to go over to house of the person keeping the kittens to help socialize them and get them used to being handled. I was warned that I needed to wear gloves and a longsleeve shirt because these were "feral" kittens. When I got there, the first kitten handed to me was the black and white faced one I had seen in the shrubs. I grabbed him and he promptly fell asleep in my lap. Real vicious. This went on for about a month. Of course, the black and white one became my favorite. When it came time to put them up for adoption, he was adopted immediately. By me. The foster parent had named him Tux and I kept that name. Tux is the smartest cat I've ever known. He opens drawers and cupboards. He's even taken the batteries out of a remote! He's simply an endlessly fascinating cat! _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Interesting, indeed. You're a good person. I'm assuming that's Tux in the picture. He's gorgeous. He looks intelligent as well. My two cats do the same thing. Open doors, asks for food and/or attention. Amazing creatures, I'd say! | |

| Yeah, that's Tux. Cats are indeed amazing creatures. So independent and so intelligent. And no two are alike. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think calico cats are so cool. They look like feline quilts. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I love dogs too; I just don't have the time they require. Fortunately my neighbor has 2 dogs that I can play with. And I was just being facetious, my cats actually get along great. In fact, Godiva starts looking around the house if Tux is nowhere to be found. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| If I was going to get a dog, a pug would be high on my list. I actually like big dogs but for practical reasons, a pug would be a better fit with my cats. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Cool! I'd probably love cats but I'm severely allergic to them.
Dogs are more pal-around too, which I liked growing up. Cats usually won't accompany you into the woods, playing ball.

I don't know, Godiva literally follows me everywhere. When I get in the shower, she sits outside the shower door facing the bathroom door like a guard. She literally has to be everywhere I am. Right now, she's on the chair next to me as I type this. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| It sure does. I often joke that my cats try to kill me. The classic was about 2 years ago. I had the Cardinals game on TV and was in the bathroom washing my face. The Cards were leading by one run. All of a sudden I hear, "There's a shot to center! Edmonds going back, back..." I turn to rush out of the bathroom to see what's going on. Except I didn't know Godiva was right next to me. I tripped over her and ran face first into the bathroom door. Busted my glasses, and the sharp part of the nose piece gave me a scar right above my nose. I also had a concussion. Oh yeah, Edmonds caught the ball. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Both of mine try to kill me. They take turns. Tux put me through a glass coffee table. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Of course he did! Not a cards fan but he's one of the great CF's of this generation! Good cat stories, by the way.
