| I'm gonna call this entry "Then and Now." THEN: Check out THESE angry looking young thrashers!! That's me on the left, circa 1990. This was taken in Union Square Park in NYC. On the right is my college pal and frequent concert buddy Bryan (who sadly has been M.I.A. since he got married in 1995.) When this was taken we were probably on our way to a show, or we had just finished cleaning out every record store in Greenwich Village of all their heavy metal treasures. Either way, I appear to be toasting the occasion with an invisible beer. NOW: My son Daniel and I in a rare quiet moment. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| A question for all "old timers" around here - those who once had long hair: Why did you cut it off? And when? Was it because the job, wife (hehe) or did you just feel they you outgrow it? Did you ever think about cutting it off when you were in your teens or was your moto "long hair till the grave"? | |

I have two kids. Daniel will be five months old next week, and his big brother Matthew just turned five years old last month. They keep me busy. - Quote :

Did you ever think about cutting it off when you were in your teens or was your moto "long hair till the grave"? I cut my hair in 1997 cuz I'd just gotten tired of it. I had actually been thinking of doing it for at least a year before I finally got it over with because I kept coming up with excuses to put it off and put it off. Then a good friend asked me to be the "best man" in his wedding. His mother asked me jokingly, "You're gonna get that hair cut off before the wedding, right?" and I thought to myself, "Hmm, y'know, I've been looking for an excuse to do it, might as well get it over with." And that was that. Sometimes I miss it, most times I don't. When it was at its longest my hair was about halfway down my back so I had to keep it tied in a pony tail most of the time anyway (especially when I went to work), which was a pain in the ass, and aside from that, occasionally it would get caught in the car window, a strand would fall in my dinner, etc., So I finally said "enough is enough." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I had hair like Sebastian Bach once. Haha. My hair is really thin, so it was annoying when long. Even when it's short it's annoying. In the Air Force I had a fresh 90210 hairdo, but I needed to use a ton of gel on it, otherwise is just fell over. And it was windy out, even a light wind, rest assured my hair would quickly flop over in that direction. So annoying. I ocassionally shaved it all off, just for a change, then I'd grow it back a bit to the 90210 style. But it's been shaved for about a year now. I think this is the way it'll stay. So much easier. I do it myself and save myself $20 every two weeks. =) |

My hair is REALLY thick, which is good, but sometimes it ends up looking.....I don't know, "girly"...haha. The problem is, that It grows so damn slow!! I didn't cut my hair for a year (and it was down to my ears when nI started), and it barely reached my shoulders! argh! | |

| My hair is still pretty long (a little under my shoulders). The longest it ever was, was down to the bottom of my ass, that didn't last too long. I prefer it in the middle of my back

Did you ever think about cutting it off when you were in your teens or was your moto "long hair till the grave"? Ah my young friend, you have much to learn. I think you'll find that the little lady in your life (once marriage has come a-callin') will have you doing some stuff that you might now say "no way in hell" to. But to answer your question, I cut it because my hair is naturally very wavy and pretty damn thick. I had to do a lot of maintanence when I had long hair to make sure it wasn't going every which way, clean it, etc. I got tired of the hassle and cut it. I almost peel myself bald now (cut it down to about 1/4 of an inch). No muss, no fuss now! _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| Well, I don't know, my cousin shaved his head because of the job (and he had a John Tardy like hair !!). Don't know about the women, though, my girlfriend (she's older than me) wears hitops, and some of her favorite bands are Anvil, Saxon and Bathory + she likes my hair, so I am safe for now | |

| I'm in the process of growing my hair out (it is getting there slowly but surely). From 2003 to 2006 I grew my hair out and had it past my neck before I cut it off. About 3 days afterwards I regretted it and now I will see how long I can get it before I have to cut it off again when I start looking for a job I can make a living off of. For me I just never liked the way I looked with short hair. And the one time I finally had it long and was happy with the way I looked I thought I'd be more comfortable having it short (it felt no different than when I had my hair pulled back with my undercut which is what made me regret it). | |
