Without the research, of course. No cheating.... I wanted to know if anyone could tell if it was an independently produced or major label product?
Just use your ears.... listening skills.
I knew that I would goof up my first topic post.

I'm gonna taka a shot in the dark and say indie. The production quality can be deceiving and I don't think I could do anything but guess about any band by just listening.
The observation of two things made my mind up more than listening to the clips. (I did listen to each a lil bit) First the year...1987 and Second, a major label band more than likely would have had a promo video made for a tune and not a fan or former member on the computer 20 years later.
My other guess is that this band is from your old home town and you know somebody who was a member.

thanks for playing...
Yes, It is self produced album and he is from the SF Bay Area. I've always been a fan of Kevin Gilbert, but I didn't know him. He was always interviewed and played on the Stone Trek program on KOME.
Here is a list of his various projects: NRG, Giraffe, Toy Matinee, Keith Emerson, Marc Bonilla, Tuesday Night Music Club. Production and Engineering: Madonna, Michael Jackson and Spocks Beard. He was suppossed to produce what became Falling by DT(Portnoy was a big fan) and was going to get the singers spot in Genesis before his untimely death in 95.
Here he is fronting Toy Matinee...
And a version Of Giraffe at Progfest 94 with Nick D. from Spocks Beard on Drums and Backing Vocals:

I was in a band called NRG down in So. Calif back in 86'. I walked away when they started talking about wearing make up and 'boofin up" the hair.
