I can remember some Christian bookstores 'banning' it even.
So yeah ... it's a cool cover.
It was probably banned in an effort to protect people's artistic sensibilities. That cover is freakin' hideous and laughable. Sea monster cats? Yeah, right. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| LOL Toho. Well, it has sentimental value to me - so nostalgia might be clouding my judgment. I'll give you that. But in reality, this album was banned because it was thought to be 'demonic'. No kidding. There was an actual 'article' my mom had that said this. They also thought their song, "Space Cruiser" was demonic. It's so funny in hindsight. My parents were part of the Baptist denomination when I was a kid. They regularly watched movies about how 'rock will damage your kids'. And stuff like this. They even came against Christian metal. Called em 'devils in disguise'. I used to just hate having to watch these movies every week. I'd go home and sneak into my room and blair some Slayer on my headphones when I got home. LOL. | |

I didn't even have a stereo until I was 15 because secular music was "of the devil". Guess I've been trying to make up for lost time ever since. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Guess I've been trying to make up for lost time ever since. Sounds like our parents were similar. Mine were also abusive though. So it was really weird. I was out of my house by the age of 16 and on the streets. You'd never know it by looking at my life now, but I was quite poor at one time in my life. Been there. Done that. Aint going back again.

| I hate to hear that. My parents were great about music. They would caution me but never said I couldn't listen and would speak out about the move to call rock evil. My dad even listened to it with me at times, the mellower stuff. Slash-RnFR |

| I renewed my subscription to emusic and got two Siena Root albums, the most recent and the debut (that's all they had). I've been meaning to check them out for awhile but the CDs are too pricey...so I went for the paid download route.
These guys are AMAZING, just absolutely floored me. I'll be listening to the newest album ALOT over the next few days! |

Siena Root - A New Day Dawning Their albums seem all pretty different. This one was their first, and features the male vocalist. Reminds me of some of the Deep Purple spin off bands like Warhorse and Captain Beyond. The other one you have is their most recent I think. Throaty female vocals (Sanya or Jenny Jones Simmonds?), but they don't feature her much. It's mostly Eastern flavored jammming. Far From The Sun is probably the best. It features Jones on vocals (she sounds like Burke Shelley, but her voice is deeper!) but is more song based like their first album. I've never heard "Kaliedescope". Really the best clips of them on Youtube feature songs from the first album, but with the female vocals.
