I like the first two which to my ears are more melodious than the last one which contained too much growling for me.

The first two have a lot of growling too but also lots of choirs and orchestration.

Essentially, Hollenthon is the main guy from Pungent Stench and his wife.

Is Pungent Stench any good?

Yeah, I love how they incorporate the choirs and orchestration in with the death metal. Music to my ears!!! Thanks again for this CD dude.

From what I've read, Pungent Stench were purveyors of gore/grind. Supposedly they wrote lyrics more extreme than Cannibal Corpse. Definitely not my thing but you might dig it MB.

I used to have the first one.. (With Vilest Of Worms To Dwell)...coming from someone who knows a bunch about a bunch of symphonic metal, the album was not unenjoyable, but it felt too stiff, too restrained....there was too much repetition for what they were trying to do....very scarce on bridge parts, solos..transitional things that take the song somewhere else and back again. Summoning narrowly gets away with that approach, but Hollenthon doesn't..The vocals I could take or leave, it all kind of felt like diet symphonic metal, and growling being in it didn't suddenly make it more extreme or anything for me. There was a lot of promise, still. I haven't heard their newest one yet.
