One of my friends posted this vid on Facebook earlier today and it's BEEN STUCK IN MY F**KING HEAD EVER SINCE. So I figured I'd share my misery. Sing along everybody!
"We can dance, we can dance, everybody look at your hands... We can dance, we can dance, everybody's takin' a chaaaaance... IT'S THE SAFETY DANCE!"
Kill me now.

I will never forget this song since when I was living near Memphis, a DJ announced the artist of this song as "Men Without Pants". I don't think he lasted long after that...

I freekin' love this band! Everything they have done is gold.
Their two best albums are:
Pop Goes the World and Rhythm of Youth (the album Safety Dance is on)
If you like the song, "Safety Dance", chances are you will like all of their stuff. It's all very catchy and good.

I once had the album that has the yellow cover with their hat crossed out logo. It might have been a best of...

They had a good song a few years later, 85 or 86, called "Pop Goes the World". It had one of my favorite lyrics:
"Johnny played guitar Jenny played bass the name of the band is the human race"

Yeah, "Pop Goes the World" is actually my favorite album from them. It's great all the way through.
Heck, all their stuff is good.

I recall reading something about the singer working on some music with Voivod's Away, who is a fan of the band. Interesting.

I saw a bit on this on VH1. The lyrics are about not hurting other people while watching your favourite band live. Like "keep your distance, elbows down and let everyone enjoy". The video doesn't have the 's-s-s, a-a-a-, f-f-f..." part though.
That song is nice... I have never heard any other Men Without Hats songs though. That chorus haunts me sometimes, too. I remember I kept hearing it with Dave Mustaine singing one time at work. It was clearly only in my head, but that's one idea Megadeth should grab - cover Safety Dance!
And here's something funny, if you didn't see it already: Conan O'Brien
And here's something even funnier Scrubs
Damn... there was also something very funny on Youtube with a bunch of college kids going with a boombox in the campus dancing to the song. Just can't find it now...

I was at this chicks house in one of those canyons in So. Cal someplace. Ate a bunch of shrooms and when the thing started happening (the trip), my roamings around the home ended up in the basement game room where folks were watching MTV (I suppose) and that song was on when I entered the room. Needless to say, I did my best imitation of the dude for about the next 3 or 4 hours.
