Tyr

I couldn't find a thread on this band.

I'm listening to By the Light of the Northern Star right now.

This combines Traditional, Power and Viking/Pagan music and themes in such a way that I imagine many here would reallly enjoy this band. I can't recommend their new album enough.

Interesting sound.

TYR are AWESOME! They are a faroese band. I've followed them since they started, since I am also Icelandic, and they have recorded and performed many traditional Icelandic and Faroese folk songs in metal versions. Even traditional Danish songs. I love them, and own their entire discography. Their newer releases have focused more on original songwriting, and dropping some of the awesome saga songs. I've had beer with these guys, they are awesome.

I recommend Eric The Red, if you want some classic TYR, or even their debut album. Tyr are one of my favourite metal bands ever.

Just picked up their latest CD in preparation for their PPUSA XI set in September!

Haven't got the latest yet, but I love this band. I highly recommend them. GREAT singalongs, too. Even if it's a different language.

I'll have to get some cds by this band!!

I first heard of them when they opened for Pagan Fest USA and immediately fell in love with them. They only played a few songs, but they were great.

Good band, but if I listen to more than a few songs at one time I go into insulin shock.

I just added the new Tyr album to the very top of my list (right after the new WASP).

Can't wait to get this.

Saw them live a couple of years back. They were decent, but it's not really my cup of tea.
