| LOL Ult's list is pure metal with the exception of very few bands!  I still consider the 70s metal bands to be 'metal'. Van Halen is metal. Kiss is metal. Deep Purple is metal. Aerosmith is metal. At least to me. By the way - nice call on The Who Ult. Great band. | |

Yes Van Halen is a metal band and so are most of the bands on ULT's list.

| You guys apparently have a lot more literal interpretation of "metal" than I do.
If I were to list all the punk, industrial, hard rock bands in my "non-metal" list, the damn thing would include about 3000 bands.
When someone starts a thread like this, I assume they're not merely referring to traditional metal bands. I figure they want to know what non-hard music bands people like.
Since I like very few "tru metal" bands, most of my 3500 CD collection is comprised of something else so I have to be more discriminating when this topic comes up.
