| At least as big as Tesla and Cinderella. I'm a sucker for blues in my music and Junkyard did it masterfully. Slippin' Away is at least as good as Sweet Child O Mine. There has got to be fans on this board. |

| Yep. That whole Sixes, Sevens and Nines is excellent. I also picked up their other two that were never officially released. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I have a coupla of their discs (s/t and 6's, 7's & 9's) and I enjoy them immensly. One of the few groups from the hair/glam era (even if they didn't quite fit that description) that I didn't get burned out on and can still listen to without cringing. I dunno why they weren't bigger. Maybe because they didn't quite fit into the hair/glam image? They had more of the greasy biker look. I guess they just got lost in the shuffle. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Same thing happened with Little Caesar. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| For some reason it seemed like radio always stayed away from the Junkyards and Little Caesars of the world. Never understood why, since those albums have plenty of songs that could've been "hits". Even stranger was that Billboard magazine (I went through an expensive obsession with getting it back then) used to always push these types of acts in their hard rock section. That was how I came to hear of them. | |

| They probably didn't get bigger because the market was totally oversaturated when they came out.... I remember when they came out I ignored 'em because it just seemed that it was another 'hair band'... I will say I've not heard 'em but I just remember back in the late 80's early 90's it seemed like a new band everyweek..... hmmmm sounds like the scene now..... | |

I think I got them from Amazon zShops but they're not there now. You can still get them directly from the band though. "XXX" and "Joker". http://www.junkyardblooze.com/store.html _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Funny how alot of "unknown" bands from back then were way better than those that were huge, regardless of the flavor. _________________ | |

| Bump for a Junkyard question...
I see they've got a few albums of demos and whatnot since their demise in the early 90's. Any of their 2 post-Geffen (s/t and 6's,7's & 9's) albums worth investigating? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. If you like the S/t and 6,7&9's all the live and unreleased demo's will be to your liking as well. Very consistent band. I would like to have gotten the 2 band released demo discs, I believe entitled Joker and XXX, but only have mp-3's of them currently. The Shut Up We Are Trying To Practice live disc is stellar as is the EP they released Tried And True. The band used to have some cdr versions of material available from their site but I haven't looked in while to see if they still do. | |

| Looks like Junkyard is still around. Their website music section just directs you to itunes.
I recently gave their s/t debut a fresh spin which got me curious about any other releases. They pretty much seem to be out-of-print and out of my price range now anyway. Oh well.
Thanks for the info. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I got their s/t album not long ago. I like the music a lot but I think that the vocals were the reason they weren't more popular. The guy from Little Caesar would've been better IMO. | |
