Powermad!

Anyone have some updated news on Powermad? Their myspace hasn't been updated in a while. I love this band and hope they get another album out.

No news, but if you find anything out, let us know. Big Powermad fan here.

I saw their reunion show a couple of Halloweens ago. I spoke to Joel who, at the time, said they were planning on re-issuing the Madness begins ep with some bonus unreleased tracks that were recorded for a second lp in '92. This was suppossed to be a lead-in to a new full-length. Neither one ever happened. They did play one new tune at the show and it KILLED!! I shot it with my camera-phone, but it did not turn out too well. I think I posted a bunch of pics from that show in a different thread, if you want to search for it.

Yeah, thanks for that info. I did see the other thread but was hoping for some more concrete news on new music. Man, you were lucky to be at that show. If anyone connected to Powermad reads these posts - Tell them they still have fans and we'd love some new music!!!

Not as cool as a real Powermad song, but ...

CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED recorded a cover of the song "Nice Dreams" by the Minneapolis metal band POWERMAD as a bonus track for the Japanese version of "Charred Walls Of The Damned". U.S. fans will have the chance to buy this track as well, as "Nice Dreams" will be made available on iTunes the day the album is released in the States.

"I've been a huge fan of POWERMAD's classic 1989 album, 'Absolute Power', since it came out," explains Christy. "I wanted to do a cover song that I loved and at the same time, one that a lot of people probably have not heard. 'Absolute Power' has been out of print for some time now so I'm sure the song 'Nice Dreams' will be new to a lot of people, but will also bring back some great memories for metalheads like me who love the song and who love POWERMAD."

I'm thinking of getting this Combat bootcamp recordings with 4 songs by Powermad. I've heard the quality is bad. Anyone ever hear these?

I have the Combat Bootcamp CD and the quality isn't that bad IMO.

Ive been a fan since their "Madness Begins" EP in 1988. Truly an underrated and forgotten band.

Some good news - I found Powermad on Facebook. A post by the band on 1/3 says still working on the new album. Let's hope soon... maybe summer?

That's good news. Keep us informed if you find out anything further.

It would be awesome if they would release something new but I'm not holding my breath for it.

They said they will be posting clips of new stuff soon. That's a positive sign in my book.
