Nice to see Devin Townsend on that list, but at #30? Pffft! That album should be top 5.

It's amazing. For style, I would call it the heaviest pop album in the universe. Devin goes for the big hooks and the big choruses, and completely succeeds. Plenty of the DT trademarks of super-heavy guitars and over-the-top-big production values. Another aspect that must be mentioned are Anneke Van Giersbergen's vocals. So powerful and beautiful.

The entire album is filled with earworms, but my recommended tracks are Universe in a Ball!, Bend It Like Bender!, and Numbered! (my favorite track)

And folks, if you're dismissing Hypocrisy's new one, you're really doing yourselves a disservice. It's as good as anything Peter has ever done. Huge riffs, huge guitar harmonies, stellar production. I imagine every melodic death band in Sweden taking a listen to this and saying "Daaaayuum"

I own three of 'em. The new Candlemass disc is pretty mediocre imo. It gets boring after three songs.

I have exactly one from that list, Chickenfoot. I had Heaven & Hell but sold it.

That list is way top heavy on extreme metal IMO. I'm waiting for Sleazeroxx to post their best of 2009 list. I'll bet I have at least half of the stuff on that list.

I like the megadeth but no way its the best of 2009.

I only have the Megadeth cd from that list, I think I will like more of the cds coming out like Overkill and Ozzy. I thought 2009 was so so for new releases I guess.
