| I really do not like Christmas ( but I won't go off on that tangent this year. That's my Christmas gift to you), so Christmas songs do not appeal to me in the least. In fact, I have yet to crack the cellophane on Twisted Sister's Christmas album and I've had it for over 2 years. |

That's a great one. Forgot to mention John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" in my initial post, that's another fave. Heard Bob Seger's version of "Little Drummer Boy" on the radio yesterday and I've always liked that one too. I'm also really digging the title track to Halford's "Winter Songs" this year. I recently found out it's a cover of a song by a Tori Amos-esque piano playing singer/songwriter named Sarah Bareilles, her version is OK but I prefer Halford's. Oh, and no matter who sings it, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" is my all time fave holiday song. Even when a band I don't particularly care for (i.e. U2) does that song, I still dig it. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I recently been spinning that new Halford album. I think it's great. I had the tunes rattling around in my brain last night. Some others I enjoy: Joe Perry - Blue Christmas Hanoi Rocks - Dead By Christmas King Diamond - No Presents for Christmas Anything from the Chipmonks Christmas album Gary Hoey - You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch Big Bad VooDoo Daddy - Mr. Snow Miser/Mr. Heat Miser The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight) The Beach Boys - I'll Be Home For Christmas _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Joe Perry - Blue Christmas I need this! It's on the 1st Merry Axemas cd. It starts out kinda slow, almost with a Hawaiian hula-kinda vibe with the slide guitar, then rocks out. All instrumental, no vocals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJI9ZE1DV0U A few years ago, when I saw Aerosmith live, it was around the holidays and shorlty after the Axemas cd came out. Anyway, Aerosmith was doing 'Draw the Line' and during the solo, Joe broke into a few chords of 'Blue Christmas' before Steven came back in with the "Ohhhhh, checkmate, don't be late...". I thought that was so cool. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Since The Nutcracker Suite is widely used as holiday music I will include TSO's cover of ELP's Nutrocker (I never heard the origional ELP song). I love the piano part of the song so much it almost makes me want to learn the piano just so I could play that song. | |
