Mexican Metal?

hi! My name is Diego i'm 18 yo and I'm from mexico..

I started with the metal thing some years ago, i love the old school..all the vinyls and cassettes, trades and all that stuff (i don't have a great collection).

I'm Editing my fanzine "Exterminio Zine" supporting mexican scene and including some bands from ecuador and brasil. you know fanzines never die.

I want to know if the pleople around this forum know about mexican scene.. People here in mexico is more in the brutal scene Porno gore, grindcore, brutal, death and black.

We have a lot of good bands and a lot of crap too, i'd like to have this topic to discuss about mexican metal..

now i can name some good mexican bands:

Lament are from Mexico as well. Their first 2 albums are really solid death metal.

I dig Transmetal. I've got both of their English releases on CD, Burial At Sea and Dante's Inferno. Pretty good death / thrash!

I believe Toxodeth were from Mexico. LOVE those guys!!

Don't get me started on Brazilian metal. That could go on for months!

I've heard of Cenotaph and The Chasm. I believe Daniel from The Chasm was a member of Incantation for a while

yeah Daniel did vocals and guitar or bass i don't remember in an incantation's album.. now a Infinitum obscure (mexico) member is playing with them.

Toxodeth is from mexico also is mortuary, i love this band i have their Blackened Images and is great, shub niggurath is a great death metal reference in Mexico.

Transmetal is a great band i like their early albums, the vocalist was Alberto Pimentel (the best here in mexico for that style) he had his band called Leprosy their new release (Tambores de fuego) is just great.

The Chasm rules! also Cenotaph are from Mexico.

I like Lament quite a bit. They are still around I believe.

I have Transmetal and Mortuary, but I never really paid attention to
those bands and can't even remember, when was the last time I played
something from them.



I also checked StrikeMaster, as I'm seeing them next year, but it wasn't anything special.



Any bands in "melodic" speed / thrash vein, let's say ala Su Ta Gar, without English vocals?

maybe Next.. they play a good thrash in spanish.

Ramses was a good heavy metal band i like it, but not a lot of people know them.

Agora plays prog metal they sing in spanish they are really good, saw them live 1 year ago and they sound very pro.

How could I forget NEXT? Awesome band!!

Shub Nigerath ruled! A few members are also now in The Chasm.

Also like Disgorge and Hacavitz! 2 of the dudes in those bands have a bunch of projects though. haha

Infinitum Obscure from Tijuana also rule! Great band with awesome guys!

And of course the infamous grind band Anarchus!

There's more, I just can't remember off hand.

if you know anarchus the you should know Carne and Cacofonia, are the same members.

Antimo ex-disgorge has a lot of projects, hacavitz, profanator, demonized. and was in a lot more.

I like that RAMSES album too. I have it on vinyl and got it a couple of years ago.

The Chasm are one of my favorite death metal bands ever. Great band.
