| Everyone of them should be given life in prison. Anywho I was going thru my online bank statement and I found it odd that my balance was lower than usual. So I was going thru the statement and came across one I didn't recognize.
So I called my bank and he looked at it and said it was odd especially looking at my history. This one was from Hlink Ho Chi Mihn very odd so we canceld the debit card and started paper work on refunds.
So I did some further investigating and found about 8-10 transaction and purchases that I never made so I printed out everyone and some were from Amazon and some of those didn't jive with my purchase prices and my statements online. So I went to the bank and gave my bank all the info on these and he started all the paperwork to get my money back.
2 of the purchases had phone # so I called tham and asked who they were, 1 was a clothing distributer the other was an email server place.
I asked him if I will get all the money back he said yes I should. When I got home I called Amazon about what happened and it made me mad that the service rep was a foreigner hate that. I checked all my purchases over the last 2 months and all but 4 didn't jive. So I'm thinking this is where my card # was hacked from.
I have since canceled everything from where I make purchases and the funny thing about 95% are all from music sites.
This bites the big. To those of you who but from Amazon be careful or be careful any of the other sites.
My banker said they most likely hacked into smaller sites and stole numbers. Usually bigger places immediately called your bank or credits card company to inform them of this activity that's why I find odd Amazon didn't inform.

| Sorry to hear this happen.
My parents' bank account was nearly wiped out a few months ago. Somehow, someone hacked into their bank and took their account info with a number of others. They still haven't, and probably won't, get all of their money back. Police never caught the person either.

| I once had my credit card information accessed by someone in Russia. They placed orders worth $600 on it.
Fortunately, I was informed of this early, and we were able to cancel the credit card information, so I wouldn't officially be charged.

| A few months ago some jackass hacked my Paypal account and tried to transfer $900 out of my bank account. I closed my Paypal account after stopping the transaction. My wife also fell victim to that scam a little back in which a con artist will break into your e-mail and then e-mail your friends and family, telling them you're stranded in Europe and need hundreds of dollars to get home and please send the money to such and such a place. That was a real pain in the ass to get resolved but fortunately no one actually sent any money. | |

| I called this ccbill.com place, and they have ALL my info—full name, address, card number, CV number, everything. But here's the weird part: all the user info for this site was sent to my e-mail address. What does some have to gain, unless the run this website or get kick-backs for stealing card numbers and opening subscriptions?
They also gave me an IP address: 76.252.54.249 It's apparently out of Indiana.

| Can't be Amazon then. They don't require your CV number. That's pretty scary, K. |

| I check my bank account nearly everyday. My SS# has been stolen twice, from a hospital and from a past employee so I luckily was put on one of those credit watch places. It's rampant folks. |

Does Swap A CD use your CV number? No, they don't. I order stuff all the time. Considering they have all my info, I'm thinking someone else was hacked and my info stolen.

First time it's happened to me, but I know a lot of people it's happened to. I've been had for $19.90, unless I can get ccbill.com to refund me (right now they won't; claiming I can't prove a fraud...suuuuure). Not funny that I make a joke in this thread, then a day or so later I get hit for the first time ever! Haha.

My state allows for us to put a freeze on who may access credit info which deters a lot of fraud. It can be inconvenient to have to unfreeze it to apply for a car loan etc but its worth it. That wont elmininate the credit card fraud but it does help a little. _________________

| Well, this turned out to be rather harmless. Scary, of course, but I only got charged $19.90, and luckily I caught it almost immediately because the dummy used my e-mail address so I got the confirmation e-mail. Had I not, I'm not sure I would have thought much about a $19.90 charge from CCBill.com.
After cussing out a manager, I was able to get CCBill to refund my money. So all is well...until they get me again. =(
