Another alternative metal band that I like quite well. Anyone else here like these guys? I guess you could say I'm only a casual fan since I just have one album, but I do plan on getting more eventually.

I have Break The Cycle but I never spin it. I liked it well enough at the time but it hasn't aged well IMO.

Never cared from the very little I've heard from them. They are/were frequent guests on the Howard Stern show and seem like pretty decent guys with a good sense of humor though. The alt-metal genre doesn't interest me.

They are an ok band and own two of their CD's but I have to agree with Toho it has not aged that well.

I'm sure they have at least one song that might not make me immediately want to punch the radio, but everything I remember from these guys seemed to be the epitome of that '90s commercial radio oriented whiny rock that used to be so prevelant.

When this band came out back in 2001, I can remember not liking them. A friend of mine at work even loaned me the album, and I took it home - and didn't like it.

However, a few months back, I found "Break the Cycle" in the bargain bin for like .75c or something. So I thought - what the heck, my tastes have changed. The older I get, the more open minded my tastes become.

So anyway, I just cranked it - and I feel that it's aged pretty well. It sounds good to me.

I think the music sounds ok, I do not hate the band, but it is definitley IMO has that nu-metal sound and it has the whiny lyrics of how horrid life is, and how no one understands him, making Kurt Cobain sound like the Bay City Rollers in comparsion.

I didnt mind Dysfunction it was a lot heavier then the rest of there albums. Staind found success in one sound and just kept duplicating themselves IMO..

Dysfunction is great though..

I picked up Dysfunction back in '99 the first week it came out when no one really knew them. I lost interest after that and never purchased anything else. I sold Dysfunction back this year after I realized I hadn't listened to it in ages.

Nope, sorry. I was a fan of grunge and many of the bands in the early to mid 90's, but by the late 90's and early 2000 there were way too many post-grunge bands that just sounded the same. This was one of them. I copied "Break the Cycle" off of a friend, but never got into it. Not my cup of tea.

I think Durst did A&R for a record company at one time. He also discovered Puddle of Mud.

Well, he's discovered some good stuff then. Cause I like Puddle of Mudd too.

Not a fan of Limp Biscuit though.
