Anyone heard of a thrash band called Anger As Art? They have a CD called Callous & Furor on Old School Metal Records. Any comments? Thoughts? Comparisons?

Love 'em! I have both of thier albums. Steve Gaines (Stryper's Timothy Gaines brother) is the guitarist. He was also in Abattoir and Bloodlust. I have some demos from a project he did called "Pagan War Machine" that absolutely shred!
Anyways, I love Anger as Art. Great old school thrash.

I've got his self titled album few years ago - the early version, with rhytm machine, and Steve playing all instruments and vocals. It was later rerecorded with the entire Anger as Art band. It was pretty good new thrash metal, but I haven't heard it in years! Gonna play it tomorrow!

I've seen the singer william at a few parties in the past and he was in a megadeth cover band here in the LA/OC area. His nickname was "fro".

I had a few mp3's from a year or so ago downloaded from Steve Gaines site. Not bad. I didn't know a full cd was available. Let us know how it is, Ult.

I'm really diggin' this CD. The singers voice reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who it is he reminds me of.

The more I listen to this CD, the more I like it. This is thrash metal! Gaines certainly knows how to create some dynamic and interesting songs.
Hey Sideshow, you have this yet? You need it. Add it to your list.
Saxon, Do you know where to find the first album?

CDbaby has both titles (s/t and Callous & Furror) available for $10 bucks each. I checked out some sound clips and have since added them to my wishlist.
My friend has one of their albums, AND I LOVE IT! I've been looking around for it, but none of these music stores either has it, or heard of them.
Unfortunately most independent releases are not available in stores. You'll have to buy it on the web. CDBaby is a great place to buy independent music.

I don't want to hijack this thread about CDBaby.com, but they're really awesome. I placed an order on Thursday and had the package in my hands the following Monday. Axewielder, you'll have better luck finding this cd on-line, however, you'll need a credit card or Paypal account. I don't know if that's an issue for you because of your age.

Steve sent me those demos about 10 years ago. He also sent me something called Pagan's War, as well as the No Sleep til Kalamazoo. Have not listened to any of them in many years. Might have to dig them up today.

Very cool band and very good friends! One of my favorite newer thrash bands of all time but they are all veterans in the metal scene too. Never can get enough of this band!
