Who here likes this band?

They are one of my ALL TIME favorites!

I went on a Jane's binge today and heard all three of their studio albums in a row! They are all so great!

I know that some might consider them metal, because they do have a lot of metal elements in their music - however, to me they are just more of an alternative rock band.

They actually bring so many styles to the mix. They bring punk, metal, goth, funk, rock, so much. They pretty much defy genres, and that's cool with me!

Anyone else like this band?

I like them in limited doses.

Perry's vocals annoy the hell outta me but the music is so strong that I can't help but like the band.

Oh yes! They are also amongst my favorites. I got into them in College in the late 80's, early nineties. Awesome. They do not have a big output, but what they released was great. I also enjoyed some of the stuff Perry released in his Porno for Pyro's project.

I used to have RITUAL DE LO HABITUAL on cassette. I would listen to the songs "Stop" and "Been Caught Stealing" exclusively, as the rest of the album did nothing for me.

That was the end of my short lived interest in the band.

Cool to see another fan here. I like Porno for Pyros too. Good stuff, though not nearly as good as Jane's Addiction.

I useed to go to clubs in El Lay and yell at Perry... "Don't hide behind that mike stand, we'll never see you" Jane's Addiction 201269

That was one skinny dude. Guess being "spoon fed" and Hershey Big Blocks gave ya that Jenny Craig poster-boy appearance.

So, do you like their music? Did you ever get to meet Perry?

I had fun at the shows... I just got out of the "dope fiend" lifestyle and it got to be a place you could basicily call "no man's land" for this guy. He was at a few party's I attended up in one of them canyons above Hollywood, but my attention was elsewhere. Lke always. I can listen to them, but they are not something I actually dig that much. They made an impact on what was going on in the El Lay club scene, gotta respect that. Laterz

I have Ritual... on cd for those 2 songs. Never cared much for the band or the rest of the album, but those 2 songs always get me moving.

I've said it before but Nothing's Shocking is a perfect album. Really a great listen.

I also like their debut and Ritual, especially "Then She Did" & "Three Days".

I am huge fan of Jane's Addiction, I think I mentioned this before, I saw them live opening up for Iggy Pop in 1988, I had no idea who they were but needless to say the band blew me away.

I also have to concur with Spec, 'Nothing's Shocking' is a perfect album that combined a number of various influences with a slight dash metal guitar in places.

I concur that "Nothing's Shocking" is a phenominal album. But I actually like "Ritual De Lo Habitual" even better. To me that is their crowning achievement. Both albums are fan-freekin-tastic though.
