HEATHENDOM

Heard some samples from their latest album and thought it sounded awesome! Bought it right away.

I know I'm late to the party, but this sounds like one of the very best recent metal bands in a sea of mediocrity.

Any thoughts on this album/band?

I've had Nescience for a while now and I really like it.I know we talked about this band some in the doom thread.It reminds me at times of Sanctuary.But you are right,one of the better recent bands.

They don't sound "doom" much to me. More like KING DIAMOND.

Yeah I didnt understand the doom tag either.I think someone classified them as power-doom.Ha,whatever.

Heard some samples. Thought they were really good. I hear the Sanctuary comparisons but to me it seems there's a little Candlemass influence there as well.

That makes more sense ... kinda like MEMENTO MORI I guess. But I don't hear much pure doom in their sound so far.

This band is brilliant. The doom tag is a bit of a misnomer these days. Power doom absolutely fits, though. It's a term that's been used for a long time with bands like Solitude Aeturnus, and it fits here, I think. Not a genre, though, and we sure as hell don't need another.

The debut EP is where the doom label really comes from. It's out of print now, but I can upload it if anyone is interested.
