| IAN GILLAN is my choice. He is one of my all time favorite vocalists/screamers. His work with Blackmore was outstanding. Some of the earliest and best proto-metal.

| I voted Gillian cuz that era('70-'73 DP) ruled, but Dio(mid to late 70's Rainbow) was a close second. The 1 year, 2 album era that Coverdale and Blackmore were together were a couple of underrated albums IMO. "Burn" is one of Deep Purple's greatest songs ever. | |

| I chose Gillan in connection to Blackmore as I am sentimental and hold that Ritchie's best work was with Purple during that era of the band. I do enjoy Dio's vocals more, but get less satisfaction from a Rainbow album (though still heads above a ton out there, then and now). So Ian followed by Ronnie. | |
