Amorphis - Tales From The Thousand Lakes

Incredible.


This is one of those albums that I don't think about much, but every time I put it in I think "this is just incredibly good." There's so much to praise about this album. I especially love the vibe/mood. It does put me in a mood or feel like a Northern place or a black winter day when I'm listening. Brilliant.

A KILLER CD! Probably my favorite Amorphis CD and certainly one of my all time favorite death metal albums.

Great Cd! I like this band alot - their new one Skyforger is excellent!

This is one of those rainy day discs for me, with all the beautiful atmosphere. Other rainy day discs are:

Ashen Mortality "Sleepless Remorse"
Seventh Angel "Lament For the Weary"
Schaliach "Sonrise"
Angelica "Walkin' in Faith" (don't ask me to explain this one)
Mortal "Fathom"

Yes, it is a "rainy day" album. Exactly!

I haven't listened to this one in years. Need to pull it out and give it a spin.

Great album and one of the best death metal CDs ever (it's also what I call real melodic death metal). However, IMO the music on the EP Black Winter's Day is far superior. Too bad they changed sounds after that because another one in that vein would have been freakin' sweet. I liked Elegy and the last two discs but no other death metal band had a sound like that.

the best Amorphis album ever. can't get enough of it.

More of a fan of The Karelian Isthmus, which had more epic going for it. But the Abhorrence material is even better.

Picked this one up from my local record store on my way back home, earlier this afternoon.
