Yeah - Great band. I have their demo, whose title I still don't understand ["pwn 'em all"? what does that even mean?]

These guys kept popping up as Amazon recommendations when I ordered other thrash bands. Sounds decent enough and if I were to find it cheap, I'd probably pick it up, but there's just so much other stuff out there that I'm trying to get caught up on. Add these guys to the growing list of modern/retro thrash bands sprouting up everywhere. It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all of them.
EDIT: Apparently there is another band named Havok. They are Swedish Death Metal.

"pwn" is believed to be a misspelling of the word "own". I think it appeard in a video game and gaming nerds took the phrase and ran with it.
Now you've been pwn'd.

Really like them. Their sound makes me think of the bands: Head on Collision with Hatchet with a little Fueled by Fire. At times, to me, the vocals remind me of Destruction (when he finishes a vocal line). I also like that most of their songs usualy have one of those 'heck, yeah!' thrash/mosh parts.

I like my explanation better!

If I would have know it was in any way "nerd related", I would have came directly to you and asked, MG.
Still a good band - even with the stupid album title.

Havok are a fantastic band, and I'm glad they're based here in my home state. They're pretty involved in our local scene as well. (Saw David S. at the Vader show last month. I was hoping he would get up on stage and do something with Lazarus A.D., but alas, it was not to be.)

I believe Alex Summers was all ways overshadowed by his brother, Cyclops. Probably because his costume wasn't as good as Scott's...

A buddy of mine really likes these guys. I don't think they're anything special though, just run of the mill thrash.

Got this one in the mail today. Sounds pretty good so far. Another quality new retro thrash band. Interesting to see how it holds up after the shine is off the apple, so to speak.

Speaking of Colorado, have you heard of Speedwolf? Their drummer used to be in Havoc. One of my favourite new bands right now

Speedwolf is awesome. They're almost perfectly halfway between Motorhead and Venom, and a fantastic live act to boot. I saw them and Havok here recently on the same bill. Speedwolf blew the doors off the place.
Havok was good as well, but they had just lost their drummer (Scott joined Abysmal Dawn), so their set wasn't quite as intense, as the guy filling in hadn't had much time to learn the tunes. However, they did play a rousing version of Number of the Beast.
