| I was on youtube and I had a recommended clip of the Mama's Boys cover of 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now' and I had not heard that in years. Rock Goddess, 'Hell Hath No Fury' I still have my vinyl copy of this album but I have not listened to it in years. I remember liking their cover of Gary 'I am Perv' Glitter's "I Didn't Know I Loved You (til I Saw You Rock N Roll) ' and thinking they were very cool band at time. I was wondering if anyone remembered these bands and if anyone was a fan of these two bands. | |

| I remember seeing Mama's Boys video for "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" a couple of times back in the day, it was OK but I remember wondering why they bothered with it since Quiet Riot had already taken that song to the bank a couple of years earlier. Rock Goddess, I recall seeing the album in stores but don't know if I ever actually heard anything from it. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I always thought that was strange that the Mama's Boys also did a cover tune of 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now' , as you pointed out that Quiet Riot had already covered that tune and had a hit with their version of the song. Maybe it was the record labels idea, trying to see if lighting would strike twice. | |

| I also wonder how many people heard the Mama's Boys version of "Mama" and thought "Wow, they're covering Quiet Riot!" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| The McManus brothers. Three dudes from Scotland [I believe]. Weird set up for a band, but it worked! Power and Passion was a great album. I saw them in '85 with Accept, Ratt, and Iron Maiden at an outdoor gig called "Trout Aire". Met a chick there that I dated the whole rest of the summer. Man, this story is going askew.... |

| I have Mama's Boys "Best Of" collection. The McManus brothers later formed a Celtic rock band called Celtus that I also have. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Close enough, they are from Ireland (better than saying England I guess). Good band though, as per usual they didn't get the recognition they deserved over on these shores until to was too late. |

Maybe it was the record labels idea, trying to see if lighting would strike twice. From Wikipedia: "... One of the new songs, a cover of Slade's 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now' was released as a single and reached number 54 in the American charts. The video for the song got a lot of airplay on MTV and helped the band to become known in the US which they toured in 1984. Coincidentily, the American heavy metal band Quiet Riot also released their cover version of the song at the same time as Mama's Boys but Quiet Riot's version gained more airplay." | |
