ROCK GONE WILD Saxon

ROCK GONE WILD Rockgonewildh

ROCK GONE WILD!!!!!!!!!

Anyone here going next month? I have not been psyched for a show/fest this much in 20 years!! Personally, I am jacked to see no less than 30-35 of the 50+ bands that are playing there - especially: Saxon [duh], Twisted Sister, Tigertailz [finally get to see these guys after 20+ years!], Helix [a lifelong fav], Armored Saint, and reunions by Black n Blue [NEVER thought this was going to be possible!!], Kix, Dangerous Toys......Man!!!!! And the "Sinners Lounge"? Well, that has the potential to do some damage to my health and well-being!

Unfortunately, even though I have 2nd row everything-you-can-think-of platinum tix, a hotel, and plenty of "ins" with local radio folk whom I have know most of my life - I am currently flying solo. If any of my friends here might want a freaky-cool adventure to end the summer, let me know. Otherwise, I may just auction off my extra platinum ticket for the Arthritis Foundation or something the week before [hell, just hanging out with me should be worth a bundle!! hahahahahahahahaha....].

I also have a couple of extra killer VIP ticket packages I can let go cheap [pm me if interested].

I would certainly be all over that IF it werent so far away distance wise...and my work wasnt such asses about leave, being that I will have just come off of a vacation.

X would love it as well....and what joy it would be to hang with the UNC.

Would love to go to this, if just for Twisted Sister and Saxon. All I need is a plane ticket, time off from work, a place to crash and some money.

I'd love to go with ya Sax, but you'd have to pick up the tab for my divorce later.

U.K. glam rockers TIGERTAILZ have been forced to cancel their appearance at Rock Gone Wild, the Iowa-based, four-day festival which is being held August 20-23 at The Diamond Jo CasinoROCK GONE WILD Mag-glass_10x10
in Northwood. According to the band, "Administrative problems leading
up to the event have proved impossible to overcome in time for the band
to travel to the USA."

The group adds, "TIGERTAILZ are
hugely frustrated and disappointed with this outcome and apologize to
those looking forward to see them. The band really wanted to be part of
this. However, with many necessary formalities not being finalized and
the show only a matter of weeks away, the situation has become an
impossible one."

The Rock Gone Wild organizers announced
this past weekend that the festival was being moved from Freedom Park
in Algona to The Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood.

"The size of the festival necessitated the change," stated Donnie Frizzell, managing partner of Rock Gone Wild.
"Thus, the move to Diamond Jo's will allow us to best serve the fans of
the festival who have already bought tickets, all of the great bands
we've booked, our employees and those who are still making plans to
attend."

The Diamond Jo Casino is a gambling casino and entertainment
complex located just south of the Iowa/Minnesota border on Interstate
35 in Northwood. The new venue is 110 miles south of Minneapolis and
135 miles north of Des Moines, which means fans who are flying into
those areas will actually be closer to the venue than they would have
been to the Algona site.

The festival will still be held on
August 20-23. All previously sold tickets will be honored on the
original dates. VIP, Platinum and general admission advance tickets are
now on sale. RV and tent camping site are also available for those
wanting to experience everything at Rock Gone Wild has to offer.

Anyone else hear this might get cancelled? Apparently the promoters are having some issues with the property owners where the festival is supposed to take place. Something about the concert taking place on the grounds of a casino.

Cole Mathisen of KIMT — a CBS affiliate television station serving Mason City, Iowa; Rochester, Minnesota; and Austin, Minnesota — reports: The future of a major rock festival is uncertain.

The general manager of Diamond Jo Casino in Worth County tells us they're not allowing Rock Gone Wild to happen on any of the casino's licensed grounds.

Promoters are planning to issue a press release at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. They were hoping for a crowd of ten thousand people, now they’re working with lawyers to come up with a plan.

Sounds like the promoters forgot to grease the right palms for this to happen.
