- ^^ Yeah, sucks but not a surprise. I never really thought Ronnie's voice gelled w/ the sound of the band, and I'm guessing the metal masses didn't either. Too bad, with a different vocalist they may have held more interest of late.
M.C. was one of my faves back in the day so I really really WANTED to like the new lineup, but I gave all three of the records they released a fair shake and found them all to be very middle-of-the-road. There were enough decent songs between the three records to make a somewhat cool "Best Of" album but by and large they were rather dull. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| End to a band I thought should have been bigger than they where. Still, a great run never the less. | |

I didn't know that about SPV, is this an old news? I think it was late May when they first reported it. |

| SPV filed bankruptcy, but they are still in business. They just do not have a lot of money to dole out for thier bands right now...filing does not mean ceasing business. SPV is the reason PAIN OF SALVATION had to pull out of the Progressive Nation tour this year...SPV did not have enough money to help fund thier tour.
Sucks about METAL CHURCH...
And I recently saw where ANNIHILATOR has just finished an album and Waters was all excited about it...someone will put it out even if not SPV...they are not breaking up. |

| Like Shawn sez, SPV is not going out of business, but I betcha a lot of bands will be dropped from their roster in the near future. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I sorta lost interest in Metal Church (the last album I bought was Masterpeace), but it's a shame when a band that has been around as long as they have has to give it up. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I got into these guys 25 years ago (like a lot of dudes here) and loved everything they put out. This Present Wasteland was my favorite release of 2008. I just listened to it in the weight room yesterday; it really should have sold 100,000 copies. Too many posers in this world! | |

He was the only one left, correct? Yea, he was the only guy from the original 80s lineup left in the band. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| With that said, Kurt obviously was a strong part of that band since I think minus singers the music all pretty much stayed true to form, and since Kurt was the one common denominator, it seemed he had a great vision and stuck to it. | |

He doesn't need to try he is the owner of the festival. He should drop one of those trendy hot topic bands.

I wonder how many more SPV acts will quit too. ANNIHILATOR? SPV is going to release a live Annihilator DVD soon which Jeff Waters sez will complete their contractual obligations to the label. Annihilator are survivors, Waters kept the band going as pretty much a one man band studio project in the 90's and back into a respectable live band now. I don't think Jeff will let anything put an end to Annihilator til he is ready.

They just need to be marketed and promoted better because even their newer stuff is pretty good imo and much better than the modern stuff out now. Kurdt Vanderhoof is a great producer and musician and i'm sure there are still some older metal heads out there with their kids ready to bang their heads to "Beyond the Black".
