| I just joined this board so I'm unsure if this type of topic has been written before. But I thought it would be cool to see how everyone discovered the band.
I became a Christian at 17 and was a huge metalhead beforehand. After getting saved I sought out good Christian metal, and a man at my church had some old Deliverance, Sacred Warrior, and Bride albums. He gave them to me and I started to research the bands, finding Scott's No Life Til Metal site in the process. I loved his site and went to it daily for a long time, learning new info.
Eventually I realized that he was the lead singer of a band called Ultimatum, so I used my friend's credit card to order Puppets and Mechanics. I received them (well, he did, and I went to his house for them) a couple weeks later. Included were two sweet Ultimatum stickers and a handwritten note from Robert thanking "Chris" for the order! I was sad because it was addressed to my friend (it was his credit card after all!) This was the first direct contact I had with a band and I thought it was awesome that Robert would take the time to write a note by hand and put it with the order. I still have the note 8 years later!
Since then I've collected the Ultimatum discography and the reissues, and love that the band stands for Christ and for Thrash! I'm still hoping for that Canadian tour! LOL, or at least come to Toronto!
I now write reviews for the Phantom Tollbooth and have had direct discussions with numerous bands and I have to say that Ultimatum has always given the nicest, fastest, and most courteous correspondence I've ever received. Not only is the music great but the guys are nice too!
Keep flyin' that metal freak flag!

| Eight or nine years ago I was ordering some stuff from RadRockers, and I needed one more item to make their pesky $25 minimum order amount, so took a chance on PUPPET OF DESTRUCTION...I had seen the band's name in 'zines and so forth in the past but hadn't heard them before; however I liked the description of their music in that catalog (I believe they were compared to Exodus, Accept, and Overkill, or something to that effect) and I dug what I heard. Some Net searching eventually led me to Ult's No Life Til Metal site, and here I am today _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| A combination of No Life Til Metal and the fact that they're from around here, so I'd sometimes see ads and stuff. Welcome to the board. | |

| Sometime in 2000 after many e-mail exchanges between Scott and I, he told me he was the lead singer of Ultimatum (he told me after I asked him how he got to know certain bands on a personal basis). Being the cool guy that he is, I bought the Ultimatum albums and the rest as they say is history. | |

| I'd seen them in the rags since the 90's, so I guess I'd always known about them. | |

We've been on the rag since the 90's? What are you trying to say Scott? _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Never heard of 'em until I discovered the NoLifeTilMetal website. And even then, it took me awhile before I made the connection that the website guy was also in the band. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Discovered them while searching for thrash on Heavens metal site, conversed with scott a bit there, then came here...I still remember the day I found the symphonic extremities disc in my mailbox after ordering it from the old blastbeats.com mailorder site. | |

| I got asked to fill in for a show with a longtime friend back in 2002. Went to Vegas and rehearsed, then found out a few days prior to the show that they got somebody else. I still went to Anahiem and caught the show. Saw alot of old friends and finaly caught Ultimatum onstage. I had planned to go the Stryper Expo in Azusa the year before, but something came up. I have seen them three times since then. Up From The Ashes 1 and 2 and Cali-Stone. Very down to earth guys and such a blast to watch onstage. _________________ | |

| I had never heard of them 'til they came to my town to play in a short-lived Christian music fest that tried to feature about every kind of music under the sun. They had P&W, hip hop, AC, whatever throughout the day, but the last band was listed as "Ultimatum - Metal" I was thinking "Yeah, right, they're metal... " But I figured that they would at least be harder than any of the other semi-rock bands that went on previously, so I stuck around to hear them. It was a free show in the park, so I was putting the kids into my wife's car so she could go home as Ultimatum started their setup. Immediately, my ears perked up because they started playing Disciple's album "This Might Sting A Little" during the setup (first time I had ever heard Disciple, either). A quick good bye to the familia and I rushed back to the stage. Hmmmmm... these guys certainly looked metal. I got more excited. They started the first song and before it was over, I had visited the merch table to buy Puppet and a copy of their old 'zine. I've never looked back since.... | |

| Yup. TT was one of the three or four people that stuck around to watch us. The bus loads of youth group kids were scheduled to go home BEFORE we played. Brilliant planning. A Spinal Tap moment for sure. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Met Scott through his website, and wanted to know if he could tell me about some of the cool new Christian metal bands (this was way back in 2000, I think. And I didn't know he was in Ultimatum then). He was kind enough to tell me about this awesome band, named Ultimatum. As fate would have it, the Norwegian metal magazine, Scream Magazine, reviewed "Mechanics" shortly after, and gave it a good enough review. So I bought the CD, and made the connection then....
By then I had joined the old TQT discussion forum, whisch eventualy ended in the CMR, and finally the Ultimatum board. As soon as ultmetal took over the old board, he made me a co-adm there. That has led us to create this board, when the crappy ezboard platform changed to yuku. _________________

| My bro hooked me up with Puppet Of Destruction in '02 and when I moved to ABQ I attended the same church as Scott and Rob (they later showed me a demo of a "new" song at the time, that was so kewl), I met Robert at Bibles Plus and talked to him a few times, I later saw him at a Disciple concert and I asked him about his guitar style/techniques and he hooked me up with his cell to "talk shop" and to help me out with a few of my own jams. I never got to call him or jam with him b/c I moved back to Colorado not long thereafter , that is one of my few regrets in life. | |

| When I came on January of 2003 to the States, I only knew a few of christian metal bands, like MORTIFICATION,TOURNIQUET,PETRA, and Lightmare. So as son as I migrated Here, I bought a computer and put some internet. I started to look for more christian metal, and ULTIMATUM was one of the first bands that I found. It was nice because they had plenty of mp3's on their site to really get to know the band. I e-mailed Scott back then, and he gave me some suggestions from christian metal bands, and that was basically it. | |

| When I was posting at another message board I was invited to post over at The Christian Metal Realm. So when I joined up at the CMR I read some posts about Ultimatum and from there I went to this Christian music store called Joyful Noise and listened to some of their music there. Picked up their cds and have been a fan ever since. | |
