This is why! Also, it really helps one get to know the musical tastes of everyone on the board ... and be able to recommend/take recommendations from people from a more educated and personalized standpoint.

Many times they are also good conversation starters. For example:

"I haven't heard that Saxon, but Saxon is awesome!"
