PostSubject: TESTAMENT   Mon Apr 07, 2008 11:02 am

I just came from the concert from BB KING blues and grill, NEW YORK CITY. The line of the show was big and there was even a MTV recording there. So we appear on the entrance making the line, MTV even filmed my friend screaming a verse from diciples of the watch, It was funny.

Then 2 bands opened for Testament, the first one was thrash metal with some modern vocals, not bad compared to what I have seen before. We even got some free demos from that band.

The second band looked like a bounch of new metal guys, one of them had a UNEXPECTED SHIRT, but they ended up being better that what we expeted. They had a mix of OPETH, death(the band) and some black metal.

Them Thin Lizzy's song the Boys are back in town, was the song that was played to introduce TESTAMENT, with the original line up and Paul Bostaph. They played like 3 new songs, my favorite songs were THE PREACHER, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH, ALONE IN THE DARK, SOULS OF BLACK, and OVER THE WALL. the place was pack like cracy. there was moshing on the whole show, this is not normal on a small place like bb king.
I even moshed on THE PREACHER, but stoped when I got knocked out :hockey:
The good thing is TESTAMENT aounched that they will do a US TOUR with MOTORHEAD AND JUDAS PRIEST by the end of this year, around OCTOBER

They'll be here on May 30th. I'm seriously considering going to this gig, having never seen Testament play live before.

I'm not too thrilled about their opening acts, though.

I just saw them last Sunday. It was pretty good, though they are not a very visual band. They only played fast, heavy songs. No slowing down, not even those midtempo 'hits' like Low or Souls of Black. Three songs from the Formation of Damnation: the title track, the Persecuted Won't Forget and More than Meets the Eye.

Testament is one of my favorite bands as well!

What do you guys think of their latest album, "The Formation of Damnation"?

I might be in the minority, but I think it's their best album to date - and I've been a fan since the 80s!

Can't be that hard, they tour a lot. I've seen them twice and I'm not a HUGE fan. Mostly only because I could never get into their mid-to-late 90s albums. I have all the Skolnick era albums though. I loved that early period technical thrash.

Favourite albums? Maybe Practise What You Preach and the New Order. But the first five are all awesome, and the Formation of Damnation is pretty damn good, too.
