I listened to it twice. All the talent is on board...they just forgot to bring memorable songs with them.

I heard it last weekend and I said this to my friend almost verbatim. It's really a boring album, IMO._________________ "Conventionality is not morality. Self-righteousness is not religion. To attack the first is not to assail the last."

One of the few reviews I disagree strongly on. I'm loving this.

Same here. I think this thing blows away all the keyboard-heavy Van Hagar albums. Want to talk about albums where all the songs sound the same? That's Van Hagar to my ears. Not necessarily from song to song on any given album but each album sounds just like the one before it IMO. Van Hagar was the Hammerfall of the 90s. _________________ "The banner of loud and rebellious music will never die. It just gets older." - GODSWIZARD

As the Van Hagar fanboy, I will contradict you...the Van Hagar albums each has it's own unique vibe... Balance sounds nothing at all like OU812, etc. And I didn't say I did not like Chickenfoot, I said it didn't kick my ass...difference. It's good, but I don't think I'd reach for it very often.

I get you I just think it's a really awesome album. Oh well, that's what makes music fun. I really enjoy VHagar too.

I like it but then I'm a Hagar/Satch fanboy too. I think Joe is a little too restrained but I understand they were trying to avoid stepping on each other's toes. Down The Drain has a somewhat similar riff to Runnin' With The Devil and Runnin' Out has the same vibe as Best Of Both Worlds especially after the first chorus.
