| I can't contribute to this thread any further cuz by the time DOMINATION came out, I had moved out of my parents' house, therefore I wasn't hearing any more Morbid Angel via osmosis from my brother _________________ "And everybody knows the center of the Universe is Huddersfield. | (On to my favorite contemporary Morbid Angel album ) Gateways to Annihilation (2000) is like a death metal overdrive! Rutan and Trey make one hell of a duo as Tucker gives some awesome low growls and you'll witness some of Pete's FASTEST drumming (it IS triggered, and he cannot play most of this stuff live without 1. Triggering it and 2. using heel-toe method for speed.)
Slow, yet crushing tracks : At One With Nothing, He Who Sleeps, intro to Summoning Redemption, intro to Opening of the Gates
Straight off the line brutality: To The Victors the Spoils, Ageless, Still I Am , Secured Limitations, 2/3 of Opening of the Gates, and Summoning Redemption and " I "
- "Kawazu" (Azagthoth) – 0:35
- "Summoning Redemption" (Azagthoth, Tucker) – 7:16
- "Ageless, Still I Am" (Azagthoth, Tucker) – 5:18
- "He Who Sleeps" (Tucker) – 4:04
- "To the Victor the Spoils" (Tucker, Azagthoth) – 3:43
- "At One with Nothing" (Azagthoth, Tucker) – 4:33
- "Opening of the Gates" (Tucker, Azagthoth) – 5:15
- "Secured Limitations" (Azagthoth) – 4:39
- "Awakening" (Rutan) – 1:21
- "I" (Azagthoth, Tucker) – 3:50
- "God of the Forsaken" (Rutan, Tucker) – 3:49

| Heretic (2003) is stylistically a bit different. It goes back and forth between some fast parts like on Covenant and Altars, then also has some atmospheric stuff like on Gateways. The sound on this album is a bit different, Pete does some great drumming (as shown on the "Drum Check"). Dunno, the riffs are just different. Some killer tracks I enjoy like Cleansed in Pestilence, Gods of Our Own Divinity, Enshrined by GraceIt's Morbid Angel, but this one just does not snatch me by the throat as the other albums have. (straight from wiki)
- "Cleansed in Pestilence (Blade of Elohim)" – 4:35
- "Enshrined by Grace" – 4:27
- "Beneath the Hollow" – 4:20
- "Curse the Flesh" – 3:35
- "Praise the Strength" – 5:16
- "Stricken Arise" – 4:10
- "Place of Many Deaths" – 4:13
- "Abyssous" – 1:30
- "God of Our Own Divinity" – 6:21
- "Within thy Enemy" – 3:17
- "Memories of the Past" – 3:18
- "Victorious March of Reign the Conqueror" – 2:37
- "Drum Check" – 2:51
- "Born Again" – 2:35
The album contains additional tracks after "Born Again". Many of these are silent, while some contain guitar solos or ambiance (notably the sound effects from "Place of Many Deaths" on "Tortured Souls"). When ripped to a computer, the tracks with solos or songs have mostly comical names. The disc has 44 tracks and, according to interviews with Trey Azagthoth, the tracks' numbers and duration have some meaning. Tracks not listed are silent. Names given are taken directly from the CD-Text on the disc.
- "Inflections" – 1:35
- "Tortured Souls" – 3:50 (sound effects from "Place of Many Deaths")
- "Terror of MechaGodzilla Lava!" – 0:33
- "Triplet Lava!!" – 0:51
- "Doomcreeper" – 4:30 (instrumental version of "Beneath the Hollow")
- "Laff" – 0:18
A few pressings of the album were made with an extra disc called Bonus Levels. The first six tracks are all songs off the first disc, with synthesized drums and no vocals. The remaining tracks are guitar solos.
- "Beneath the Hollow" instrumental – 4:25
- "Curse the Flesh" instrumental – 3:34
- "Within Thy Enemy" instrumental – 3:16
- "God of Our Own Divinity" instrumental – 6:13
- "Praise the Strength" instrumental – 5:15
- "Place of Many Deaths" instrumental – 4:06
- "Beneath the Hollow" guitar solo – 0:23
- "Curse the Flesh" guitar solo - 0:16
- "Praise the Strength" guitar solo – 0:16
- "God of Our Own Divinity" guitar solo – 0:36
- "Summoning Redemption" guitar solo 1 – 0:28
- "Summoning Redemption" guitar solo 2 – 0:24
- "Summoning Redemption" guitar solo 3 – 0:28
- "Ageless, Still I Am" guitar solo 1 – 0:38
- "Ageless, Still I Am" guitar solo 2 – 0:24
- "At One with Nothing" guitar solo 1 – 0:30
- "At One with Nothing" guitar solo 3 – 0:32
- "To the Victor the Spoils" guitar solo – 0:38

| Didn't they record a video for Enshrined By Grace? I remember seeing a video for that when Heretic came out and not being very impressed by it. |

| Abominations of Desolation (recorded 1986, released 1991) was an interesting conglomerate of demos that would be released on various LP's. Trey stated this album is NOT canonical and was intended to replace the need for various bootlegs that were popular at the time. The completed versions of these raw recordings may be found throughout the first three official Morbid Angel albums:
- "Chapel of Ghouls", "Lord of All Fevers and Plague", and "Evil Spells" (the retitled "Welcome To Hell") feature on Altars of Madness.
- A truncated version of "Unholy Blasphemies", "The Ancient Ones" (the retitled "Azagthoth"), and "Abominations" feature on Blessed Are the Sick.
- "Angel of Disease" found its way onto Covenant, though maintains a lo-fi aesthetic like the original, alienating it from the rest of the album.
- "Hell Spawn" made it onto Formulas Fatal to the Flesh as "Hellspawn: The Rebirth".
 (from wiki)
- "The Invocation/Chapel of Ghouls" – 7:11
- "Unholy Blasphemies" – 4:00
- "Angel of Disease" – 5:35
- "Azagthoth" – 5:49
- "The Gate/Lord of All Fevers" – 5:55
- "Hell Spawn" – 2:32
- "Abominations" – 4:20
- "Demon Seed" – 2:12
- "Welcome to Hell" – 4:56
NOTE: Mike Browning is the vocalist AND the drums on this album. _________________ |

| Gateways is my favorite Non-Vincent album, and one of their best overall really. Formulas, and Heretic Im pretty unfamilar with as Ive never owned the latter. But I plan on picking up Formulas again based on the two songs posted, sounds like some great stuff there! Abominations is a great demo showcasing earlier versions of songs in that thrash/death style from Altars that Ive always loved, it reminds me alot of my first intro to MA (Thy Kingdom Come EP) great stuff! |

Thy Kingdom Come (EP 1987) 1.)Thy Kingdom Come 2.)Blasphemy Of The Holy Ghost 3.)Abominations (from www.deathbythrash.com/morbidangel.htm) (This looks like an interesting sampler of earlier works also ! ) |
My brother (aka Morbid Angel Fan Numero Uno in the family) had (maybe he still has) the original cassette version of this demo, ordered directly from the band themselves back in the day. He also has a bootleg 7-inch single with these tracks on it. |
That's some hardcore fan stuff.
This also seems like some pretty neat stuff.
http://www.morbidangel.com/lol.html

Lots of interesting Trey sections. |
That Lava album is ok, pretty neat for what it is, but theres nothing unrleased on it, its just isolated guitar solos from Formulas and on the European version, Domination as well. Nothing really must have about it unless youre a nut for his playing |
