Manifesto Of Nevermore (compilation)
Manifesto Of Nevermore (compilation) Neve-c1
Track Listing:

  1. Final Product
  2. Born
  3. Enemies Of Reality
  4. Tomorrow Turned Into Yesterday
  5. Believe In Nothing
  6. Narcosynthesis
  7. Dreaming Neon Black
  8. Beyond Within
  9. Next In Line
  10. The Seven Tongues Of God
  11. Matricide
  12. What Tomorrow Knows
  13. The Heart Collector (live)

Don't know how I missed this one, although honestly, looking at the track listing, there ain't much worth investing in. Nuttin' new except for one live track, whoopity-doo. It came out on March 2nd. Did anyone get this?

CM put out a few of these. Arch Enemy and Dark Tranquillity have them, too, and they're all the same. Just a lame "hits" package.

In other words, CM is cashing in.

Does this mean Nevermore will be leaving Century Media soon? Releasing a compilation like this is usually a sign of contract-fulfillment. Band farts out a cheapo comp or live album, see ya, buh-bye.

Then to this, I say "Bah! I'll make my own greatest hits comp". Poop on them.

Hmmm, good point. They just put out the live cd/dvd a few moths ago and now this.

Since I have no Nevermore, is this at least a decent comp?

Certainly not a bad place to start. It's a pretty good overview of all thier work from what I can tell.

It's so hard to say if this is a good overview. A good place to get introduced maybe but thirteen songs isn't many out of their catalog. The Politics Of Ecstasy is a must have in my book for all metal fans.

I've got everything from the band already, so I will skip on this purchase. It would have to be a little more expansive for myself to be interested.

I can't imagine CM would be getting rid of Nevermore, Dark Tranquillity and Arch Enemy. They've got to be three of their biggest sellers. This is probably something that's part of their contract, but not considered an "Album."

If they sold these things for like $3.99, I'd buy them. Otherwise, who cares?

I like the selection.

But I've kind of grown off of Nevermore. After Enemies of Reality (I bought the original print, with the infamous bad production) I was already completely off the Nevermore bandwagon, but the raving reviews for Endeavor made me buy it, too.

Here's how I'd rank their albums:

1. Dead Heart in a Dead World
2. Politics of Ecstacy
3. This Godless Endeavor
4. Dreaming Neon Black
5. Enemies of Reality

Those are the ones I have.

The ideal Best Of IMO would have been:

1: Gardens of Grey
2: Godmoney
3: Optimist or Pessimist
4: In Memory
5: The Seven Tongues of God
6: The Politics of Ecstasy
7: The Learning
8: Beyond Within
9: Deconstruction
10: Poison God Machine
11: Narcosynthesis
12: The River Dragon Has Come
13: Engines of Hate
14: Dead Heart in a Dead World
15: Enemies of Reality
16: Tomorrow Turned Into Yesterday
17: I, Voyager
18: Born
19: Sentient 6
20: The Psalm of Lydia
21: A Future Uncertain
22: This Godless Endeavor

Ideally, I'd love to add all of Dreaming Neon Black and This Godless Endeavor as I love those albums to bits.

I would say this is a very good overview for someone who hasn't heard much from them. All of their biggest tunes are there, though it looks like its in reverse chronology. I'd say go for it toho. Give it a few spins before making a judgment; their sound texture is so thick you have to listen a few times before hearing all the subtleties that are there. One of my favorites! headbanger

That cover art is very lame, but judging on the track-listing, doesn't look like anything special .
