German metal vs American metal

Which one rules? I've been listening to both for over 12 years. Although American metal is great, i have to admit that german metallers are far more talented: Accept, Helloween, Grave Digger, Kreator, Destruction...

Germans are pro at everything they do...Just check their cars and their national soccer team

I like both equally. I mean what would metal be without Riot, Savatage, Sacred Warrior, Deliverance, Metallica, Stryper and on and on

for thrash, the Germans. for death, the American scene is better.

i think every country offers both good & bad metal.

I like bands from all over the world. Some of my favorite bands are from both America and Germany...and England.

England has given us such wonderful bands as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Raven, Diamond Head, UFO, Led Zeppelin, etc.

I like them both pretty equally. These type of discussions are interesting, but I sure am glad I never really have to choose one to the exclusion of the other.

Another scene that has grown, at least in progressive death metal, is France.

The German scene for me. I have always been more into European bands though.

The American scene ruled in the 80`.
The German scene has been great through the decades, and still is.
So I will have to say German.

North American and south american metal

Germany by a hair.

Helloween
Primal Fear
Sinner
Grave Digger
etc.
All have big catalogs and shred.

Both have ruled the scene from time to time, at the moment the Germans probably have the Americans beat but, that could always change.

Germany has some great stuff...but overall I prefer the US.

Most of my fav bands are from the US so I will go with the US. But european metal not just Germany has some killer metal and some very important bands.

When it comes to Thrash I would disagree. Californian thrash to me is the best type of thrash there is.

German bands that come in my mind are less than American bands. But I don't have any preference.

For my tastes Germany crushes the US scene.....not that their aren't great US bands.

I like American better. The Germans other than the Scorpions have annoying vocals for the most part. Also the SoCal thrash movement blew away the german stuff for me. If i want fast i'll go to Dark Angel before Kreator, if i want heavy i will go to Testament before Destruction. But if you were talking about Coroner who are Swiss that is an exception for me.

I like metal from every country in the world.Its hard for me to pick a favorite.I think I would say American by a hair.For thrash bands,Italy has a great scene.
