Battle of 1984

I've had this idea for a while, but then was inspired by the thread that had "Master of Puppets" against "Bonded By Blood". I thought it would be cool to do a year by year type of thing. I've always had a fascination with 1984, whether it was music, or what was going on in my life. So, I took what I thought were the best albums of 1984, and seeded them. I know everyone might not agree with the seeds, but that's okay. I think that will make things a little more interesting when people pick who they want to advance.

I think the easiest way to go about this is for those on here to list the album/band or the seed that is connected with each part of the bracket. If you move your cursor on each album, it will show the seed for each. I will log in periodically to update the score on hotbrackets.com to show which album is ahead. I think we'll use 10 as the number that needs to be achieved (like on the other thread) for that album/band to advance, unless someone feels like we should use a higher number (a late rally/like in basketball is always cool). If I've left a favorite album of yours off the list, I apologize.

If this ends up being a popular thread, I will start another year very soon. I figure we could do it by decade. Obviously we'll finish off the 80's, and then move onward at some point. Once the 80's have been completed, I will take the winning album from each year in the 80's and pit them up against each other. Just like the first Tuesday in November, get out and VOTE!

Just based on my seedings, we have 4 upsets brewing so far. Savatage #9 seed with a lead on the #8 seed Great White, Mercyful Fate #12 seed with a slight lead over Dio #5 seed, another slight lead for Manowar as the #12 seed over the #5 Scorpions, and last but least a big upset brewing with the #15 seed Deep Purple leading the #2 seed Dokken. Keep voting folks. I will not be voting. I think my seeding of the bands and their albums states who I like in the matchups. The plan still is to see who gets to ten points first.
