shame to hear that. he had a bloody good voice. the samson bassist who was in the group during the dickinson years also died a month or two ago

I just heard about this yesterday while reading my new copy of Heaven's Metal (an article about Michael Sweet singing with Boston at a tribute show). This is quite a shock and a tragic tale of a man in deep suffering. It is unfortunate that so many deaths occurring in the rock community could be avoided. Drug overdoses and suicide seem to be the occurance almost 90% of time (estimate not based on any true facts). You would think that after all this time musicians would be smarter than that. Drugs are poison that eats you up from inside and suicide is a cowardly solution that ends up hurting the ones you leave behind. Unfortunatly as much as I wish it were otherwise these kind of things will continue to happen. Sex, drugs, and rock & roll......and death.
