Explaination: I tried to stay away from pure metal there, but it's not easy. If you'd asked for metal bands the list would be different.

Actually, I love Bon Scott era; after that they get pretty iffy IMO.

Bon Scott era is to me real AC/DC, after a few Johnson albums, they lost it IMO. Still sounds the same, but it's clearly not if you catch my drift. Also, Brain Johnsons voice could piss off the dead.

My thoughts exactly; though more explicitly expressed.

I think the first three albums with Johnson are beyond phenomenal. At that point, his voice was in prime form. He started to lose it on Fly On The Wall, but he still sounded great. His voice is pretty shot now, but he still has the heart.

I can see why you guys would prefer the Bon years: the band was more creative (and I use that term loosely) in those days; the albums were more dynamic. However, I think they found their sound with Johnson on Back in Black. I worship that album. It's the album that changed me from a rap-listening teen (it was the hot thing at the time, and, in those days, I was a tool....like all the kids in my high school were) in shorts, sandals, American Eagle polo shirts, and my Gap-style hair cut to a jeans, t-shirt, long hair, plaid, aviator shades dude.

80's - Judas Priest/metal church/savatage/accept/dio/armored saint/overkill
90's - queensryche/mortification
00's - rob rock/ayreon

Def Leppard ad infinitum.

I must say the Bon Scott era was the greatest and never will be matched IMO
although I still enjoy Brian Johnson era AC/DC quite a bit. and even though there last few albums weren't mind blowing or anything I'll still buy anything they put out Im a fanatic if they did a bluesgrass/country album I'd still buy it. heres hoping that the new album comes out soon
