This is the ideosyncratic art-punk band starring Mark E. Smith. A lot of people think it's complete crap,and some of it is (Smith was a big drunk I guess). However I have a soft spot for some of their music. I'd say they were influenced quite a bit by the Krautrock band Can, or at least some of the Can songs.

i've never heard the fall, but i like pavement a lot and have most of their cds, and i've heard pavement was seriously influenced by the fall. but obviously i can't verify that!
