Power metal - Lord of the Rings

Prog metal - V for Vendetta

Traditional metal - Biker movies, war movies

Thrash metal - Macho tough guy action/martial arts movies

Goth metal - The Crow

Stoner metal - Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

I look forward to seeing what you guys think. Add different genres of metal if you want to as well.

Strange how The Prestige is mentioned for prog. My second choice for prog was The Illusionist, a movie also dealing with magicians, released at a similar time.

Power metal - Conan the Destroyer, Hercules the Legendary Journies

Prog metal - Vanilla Sky, What Dreams May Come, Jacobs Ladder, 12 Monkeys.

Traditional metal - Easy Rider, Stone Cold (with Brian Bozworth, lol) Hard to Kill

Thrash metal - Red Dawn, American History X, Apocalypse Now

Goth metal - Underworld, The Crow, Interview With the Vampire

Stoner metal - Strange Brew, Cheech & Chong movies, Dude Wheres my Car,

HOW ABOUT BLACK METAL?!

Black Metal - I'd say a movie somewhere along the lines of the Exorcist, or some kickass Viking movie, but the movie names escape me:P

Power Metal-The Beastmaster, Willow, Konan The Barbarian/Destroyer, and Clash Of The Titans
Death Metal-The Living Dead Movies, Friday The 13th, and Saw
Black Metal-The Exorsist, any number of satanic based movies, The 13th Warrior, and Pathfinder.
Goth Metal-The Howling, Dracula, Underworld, Queen Of The Damned, and Blade.
Progressive Metal-Dune and any number of Sci-Fi movies (for spacey music like Luca Turilli's Dreamquest and Ayreon); strange artsy fartsy films (Vanilla Sky, Twelve Monkeys, and Children Of Men)....Progressive metal is not an easy genre to pick a movie equivalent for so I will stop there.
Thrash-Mortal Combat, Fight Club, Steven Segal movies, Jean Claude Van Dam movies, etc.
Southern Metal (C.O.C., The Showdown, Down, etc.)-Deliverance, Waterboy, and Without A Paddle (anything that takes place in a swampy area or has deranged hillbillies).
