Post Your 2020 Haul

It's that time again, kids - where we list all the neat music crap we added to our collections over the past year so everyone can "ooh" and "ahh" over them.

2020 was an unexpectedly busy collecting year for me. In 2019 I accumulated less than 50 new CDs, this year I nearly doubled that number. The biggest change was that the majority of my purchases were online, since I couldn't go out and scrounge in stores for a good chunk of the year, due to the pandemic.

I seem to have re-discovered classic thrash in 2020 - I am probably listening to more of it now than when it was current. I guess it fit my overall mood since 2020 was so shitty on so many levels

Anyway... I completed my studio discographies for Kix, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Savatage in 2020 and I filled in a lot of gaps in other catalogs. I'm not sure yet which band(s) I want to concentrate on collecting in 2021. I think I only need two or three more Slayer albums to finish them off, I'd like to bulk up my Riot collection, and I'm almost done with Accept as well. I picked up several Rage albums in 2020 and I want to dig deeper into their discog too.

Trapped! is one of the best Rage albums. Hell, one of the best HEAVY METAL ALBUMS!

The usual suspects -- Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, etc. It got it for 50 cents, I keep it in the car for times when I forget to bring another CD with me.

People say how terrible the Covid situation is.
But for music buffs....and bookworms.....I think it’s great !
Cult and KIX....and Panzer and Jetboy....they all caught my eye ..

I added a lot of stuff to the collection this year, but what I found most interesting was how little I spent. I got really good at bargain shopping online. Haha. And not just common shit, though I obviously grabbed plenty of those kinds of albums.

Anyway, grand total was 751 new additions to the collection. Less than that if you don't count digital stuff, of which there is probably more than any recent year. Sign of the times and all that. I still hate it, but sometimes it's all you can do.

And I only count the digital albums I actually paid for. I might have acquired some digital albums via other means (don't tell my mom).
