I've gotten into Sarcafago lately. Cool Morbid Angel/Pestilence-ish Brazilian metal.

Brazil has an awesome metal scene and a great history. I wish some of their acts had gotten bigger.

A few months ago, I discovered a great band from Brazil called Facing Fear. Was listening to their album today in the car.

Yep , Brazil has its share of great bands . not that much varied on styles , as the ones of Thrash and Death and Black varieties are usually the norme , but there´s plenty to be enjoyed . I myself didn´t care that much about it until 2014 when I watched a doc called "Ruído das Minas" (something like "noise from the mines") and it changed my views . I also like a lot the U.K. late 80´s early 90´s Thrash Metal scene which is also waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overlooked , even more than the brazilian one .

We have our share of Christian bands too , altought some adopt portuguese as their official language . I´d recommend Stauros , Destra and Dracma , all great Prog/Power/Melodic stuff

Bands which had a more "Bay Area" thrash sound where somewhat uncommon here , because most sounded closer to the teutonic school , but there was an interesting band called "Acid Storm" which sounded closer to stuff like Anthrax , Testament and the alike , worth ckecking ...
