2015 Albums

If Maiden wasn't being compared to their earlier stuff, more would love their new music. I welcome more by them.

I think it's the opposite. Few would care if it was anonymous band X from Europe. They'd be lucky to sell 5,000 units worldwide.

Hm, maybe. Either way I really enjoy their newer albums.

Quartz - Too Hot To Handle - out 1/31/15. This is a compilation of 16 tracks that Quartz recorded in 1981 and 1982 but never released.

I don't think that they have a record deal yet but from what I gather, it's in the bag and as soon as that's sorted, the album is ready to be recorded, the writing's all done.

But seriously, another line up change? These guys go through drummers like Spinal Tap! Now they are back to the original guy that played on the Rocking Horse EP. I thought that he had choked on (somebody else's) vomit!

I was on Metal Archives, and every band by that name has split up (there are four of them). Is this a new band?

Add this to the list I am excited for then.

It took me a long, long time to check out Stand and Fight. I used to see the LP in the used bin at the local shop all the time (not sure if it was the same copy kicking around for years or if they just got used copies in frequently?), and I always liked the cover art...but I guess the name just wasn't cool enough because I never actually picked up the record.

Years later, I know how dumb that was. SaF is so damned good.

Yep. Stand And Fight is excellent. I got that as a Japanese Import CD years and years ago. Thankfully, it's been reissued now and is readily available.

Hopefully helloween will be releasing new material.

according to the band's website they are working on a follow-up to straight out of hell.

Anthrax recently posted some studio footage of Charlie behind the kit, so at least we know it's in the process of being made. Fingers crossed for maybe a fall release.
