Sanctuary vs. Nevermore

I'm voting for the band responsible for Refuge Denied! Everything else is either mediocre or pure crap!

Santuary - brilliant!!!!

Sanctuary, duh.

Sanctuary. Can't get into Nevermore. Haven't heard theier newest, but as the samples suggest - still sounds like Nevermore.

Sanctuary. Their debut is one of my all time favorite records ever.

I love both.

PoE and ITMB are both brilliant albums, in different ways.

Sanctuary for me.Never could get into Nevermore much.I do like the new Sanctuary album which a lot of people say sound a lot like Nevermore so go figure.

Nevermore for me. Of course I love Sanctuary too, but This Godless Endeavor is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I like the Nevermore catalogue overall better than Sanctuary mostly because I'm not that into the high vocals on the Sanctuary debut anymore.

REALLY ROUGH POLL for me to decide on. Nevermore just got to the post. For my taste, they just went one step further in the diversity department. Both bands are good, both bands do excellent music, just Nevermore got to the post first.

I agree that this is a tough poll. They are in my opinion very different bands with the same vocalist utilizing different elements of an amazing metal voice. I think that I will go with Nevermore though. I like both.

I should probbly buy a Sanctuary CD, for some December listening ?

Both are good. Worth getting.

Nevermore all the way. One great album doesn't trump numerous great albums.

Nevermore for me...no contest.

Both are great. But Nevermore gets my vote.

I like the two early Sanctuary albums a lot. Haven't heard any of their new one yet but I've heard/read mixed reviews.

Nevermore have always been hit or miss with me, though. Each of their albums has a couple of tracks I've liked but the only one I can honestly say I loved all the way thru was Dead Heart in a Dead World.

So I guess my vote would be "old" Sanctuary.

I picked Sanctuary, but frankly, I hate Warrel Dane's goofball, overwrought, theatrical vocals. The dude oversings everything. I have never been able to get into Nevermore at all.

It's a bit of a transitional album, but I like it a lot more than most of Nevermore's output.

Warrel Dane's shrieks were f*cking insane.

Nevermore. No contest... Jeff Loomis destroys the other guys.

I like both but will go with Nevermore because they have a larger body of work to go by. Into the Mirror Black is Sanctuary's best album I think (still need the new one though).

I like it quite a bit. I still need to listen to the Into the Mirror Live/Black Reflections EP.
