Comic Book Characters In Metal

I was thinking about this yesterday, since I joined a comic book group on Facebook, what bands have wrote songs or albums having to do with superheros or comic books? Only ones that I can think of at the moment are

Anthrax- I Am The Law
Iced Earth- The Dark Saga (album)

Some of Amon Amarth's album covers feature Thor.

Marvel turned KISS into superheroes in two gloriously silly Super Special comics in the 70s, which led to the KISS Meets the Phantom movie...thankfully they didn't do an album based on it, but they did turn "Hotter than Hell" into "Rip and Destroy"...

Dark Angel- Darkness Descends(Judge Death)
Lich King- Axe Cop

Megadeth's "Holy Wars/The Punishment Due" is about the Punisher.

Joe Satriani's Surfing With The Alien

There's a bunch of songs about The Punisher:

Megadeth- Holy Wars... The Punishment Due
Sodom- An Eye for an Eye
Eliminator- The Punisher
Megadeth- Killing is my Business... (I'm pretty sure)

Dark Angel's Darkness Descends is also based on the Judge Dredd comics.

Gama Bomb has a song called "In the Court of General Zod". And i'm sure that they, or any of the other current movie/comic-y related thrash bands have some comic book-themed songs.

Does Tuomas Holopainen's "The Life And Times Of Scrooge" count as Metal?

Wasn't there a Megadeth song written about a comic character other than The Punisher? I could swear there was, but I'm hitting the derps pretty hard today.

It's a loose connection, but Entombed's Wolverine Blues. Thing is the band never wanted the association. The label made that happen.

Isn't the whole Dark Saga album from Iced Earth a concept record based on the Spawn comic?

It even has Spawn on the cover

I'll say yes. I haven't heard the album though. Is there any sort of "Metal" on the album or is it all like this? Also that womans voice sounds almost sounds like Annette.

They are making KISS comics again. I just saw some new ones a few weeks ago.

Hmm...can't think of any comic book characters in metal that haven't already been mentioned.
The song "Axes of Evil" by 3 Inches of Blood is roughly based off the story of Arthas becoming the Lich King in Warcraft 3:The Frozen Throne though.

Monster Magnet have also name dropped Modok (Fantastic Four villain) and Jack Kirby in their lyrics.
