Bob Hoskins was a seriously underrated actor, probably because he worked a lot and made as many turkeys as gems, but for The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa and Who Framed Roger Rabbit his legendary status is secure and he'll be sorely missed

I was just looking at his body of work and it was quite extensive. I do believe the only thing I saw him in was Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

The guy was incredible actor who mostly played the heavies but he could do a number of different roles. Incredibly gifted actor.
That's a bummer. "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is one of my alltime favorite movies. He was great in that. He was also good as a heavy in Neil Marshall's "Doomsday."
...we won't discuss his role in 'Super Mario Brothers" though...

In a funny interview from 2011, he was asked the questions, "What is the worst job you've done," "What has been your biggest disappointment," and "If you could edit your past, what would you change?"
His answers: "Super Mario Bros.", "Super Mario Bros.", and "Super Mario Bros.".
^^ Haha, Yea, I read an interview w/him years ago where he said that he and John Leguizamo (who played Luigi) realized pretty early on during filming that they were trapped in a bomb, so they both started drinking heavily and stayed drunk for the rest of shooting.

It was many, MANY years after viewing 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' before I knew that ol' Bob was a limey. Fare thee well, Bob.
