I would guess it will be at least 3 years before a sequel to Godzilla comes out. The director is currently working on a Star Wars spinoff movie, so Godzilla will have to wait until that is completed.

Awesome! I also like the snippet at the end about the return of King Kong in "Skull Island". That's the first I've heard of that.

Some of you know that I am a HUGE fan of the Big G..... own all but three films plus tons of other classic Toho films....

I LOVED the new flick.... saw it twice and the second time through I was surprised at how fast the time went...

S.D.'s comments really did echo mine as well, the trolls who bashed on this film wanted 85 minutes of monster fighting and wouldn've some how complained there wasnt enough character development on the human side.... (character development in a Godzilla film??????????????? who is smokin what!!)

Can't wait for the sequel which should be a lot of fun.... anxiously awaiting the Blu Ray release of this film in September? or October can't remember off hand....

That 2018 date is the new American Godzilla.  The new Toho Godzilla is in 2016

That 2018 date is the new American Godzilla.  The new Toho Godzilla is in 2016

I kinda organized the quotes all wrong. I meant the American one being too far away. But now that I think about it, at the speed Japan works, isn't that a bit far away for the Toho Godzilla?

Not really.  Toho Godzilla doesn't even start production until some time in 2015.  I just hope they don't render the Big Guy in all CGI; I still like "suitmation".  That's the way the latter day Toho Godzilla movies were done; combination of CGI and suitmation.  Plus, like the article said, Toho doesn't have the budget to do the hi tech CGI like Hollywood did with Godzilla.  If they did I'd be fine with CGI because the CGI in this latest American Godzilla film was superb.  But if Toho tried it I think it would end up looking too "cartoony"

I'll be happy to see another suit-Godzilla film. I have no complaints with two series running simultaneously, the more Godzilla the better is my motto.

There are many concept drawings floating around out there, my guess is this early in the process none of them are probably the actual designs. They won't start shooting this film for at least another year, so my guess is final designs are a ways off.

That Rodan design is very cool.  The King Ghidorah pic isn't really all that different from classic KG.

I kind of figured these might not be the final designs but when I saw them posted on another sight, I thought I'd post them on here just to see what you guys thought of them.
