I usually like extreme metal of most varieties, but that just grates on my nerves. Annoying would be a good word to describe it.

I didn't care for it at first, but I did get through the song and liked it by the end of it. Not really a genre I'm seeking out at the moment.

My sentiments exactly. It sounds like wha Zao might sound like if they had the chops to play death metal. But yeah, they have a long way to go yet, that was a very sloppy song. And not in the good high on fire way of pushing the chaos to the brink but keeping it together... These guys don't sound like a group with a musical center, it was like "you play your part, then I'll play my part, then some blast beats...." "ooh can I play my part again after that?" "yeah sure, the more parts the better!!!"

At first I couldn't stand it: the vocals are a little outside of what I usually listen to and they seem so loud in the mix that it turned me off immediately. In the end though I think it's not too bad

It sounds to me like forchristsake might have something there if they practice a ton and try and trim the fat songwriting wise. I kind of like the Zao with chops vibe.
