Favorite line or lyric in a song

Listening to David Bowie last night I heard one of my favorite lines in a song:

Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses

Nice One!

I'm not a big lyrics person but Jethro Tull is one band where I actually pay attention to the words. I actually used portions of the songs "Heavy Horses" and "Moths" as compositions for a college poetry class.

IMO Ian Anderson is an underrated lyricist, Jethro Tull's songbook is filled with lyrical gems.

Great song! Last August, my older brother passed away in Florida and as I was running around the next day, getting things lined up before we flew down for the funeral, this disc was in my car and "Spirit Slips Away" came on. The lyric really struck (obviously) and this has become an important song to me. Good call, detuned!
