Symphonic Gothic Metal, maybe...not Doom. That said, I LOVE the first SAVIOUR MACHINE album...

I'll have to check them out further. As far as doom, I have Place of Skulls and I really can't stand it or other doom stuff people have gotten me to try. What about Paramecium? Are they doom? I still haven't tried them but just heard a cool song on internet radio.

PARAMAECIUM are very much Doom Metal...they fall under the Funeral Doom subgenere of Doom...VERY slow, VERY heavy with deep death growls for vocals...similar artists would be SHAPE OF DESPAIR or AHAB...

All the flavors apply in either catergory to me. for me genre's were invented for those who have hundreds/thousands of records/tapes/cds/downloads that need a means to catergorize what they have.
